My apologies if this subject was already posted before....

I own a 2010 vision 8 ball. I have the big honkers (Ness), VFCIII and both front/plate air filter performance.

Should the O2 sensors be left connected or should i disconnect them?

My 'certified' Victory tech is saying that there is no need to disconnect them as the VFCIII overwrite the O2 sensors.

I am kinda confused since i've read different opinion regarding this?

So can someone knowledgeable can answer the question once and for all? :P

Thanks fellaz
Cheers!

Well, when I had my cams, VFC, and filters installed by KevinX, he disconnected the 02 sensors on my bike. I already the Honkers installed. From everything that I have heard, your supposed to disconnect them....

I have to same set up. Lloyd himself dyno tuned it at Daytona and disconnected them. My bike runs great. Lova I'm curious what kind of MPG you get. When I took my bike to Daytona it was getting in the low 40's. Lloyd said it ws running very lean. After the tune it still indicates low 40's on the onboard computer but I get around 36 MPG.

Lova, how did it work with the O2 sensors disconnected? I also have 2 questions for you? Can you tell me the settings on your VFC? Second, do your tips get completely black with soot after a couple of hundred miles?

There are 2 in-line plugs under the panel between the seat and the radio. One is GY/BU (rear) and the other is GY/R (front). That's for an '08, but I'd think the 2011s are the same.

The 02 sensors should always be disconnectied if you're running the VFCIII.  By the way, on the 08, only the plug-in for the front cylinder sensor is under the access panel in front of the seat. The rear cylinder sensor plug-in is behind the left side cover in front of the saddlebag directly above the clutch actuator.  No need to cut any wires.  You should protect them from moisture by taping or installing caps so they can be reconnnected in the future if you wish.

I searched and searched until i went nutz. but the rear one was on the left side cover like Nohawg mentioned but on my 2011 the front o2 sensor plug was by the battery! i went crazy looking through my wiring harness, only to find it later by the battery.... LOL

Most of us disconnect the sensors at the connector located about 8 inches from the sensors themselves.... just follow the wire from the sensor and voila... there's the connector.

Thanks Arkainzeye,
I just assumed they were both under there because I saw more than 2 connectors. I have to pull the cover and make sure the rear is DC'd. Now I have a new mystery. What is the purple wire for? No matching connector for it.

Weird... I know this.. I found more empty free plugs on this.11 vision than on my 08.. there is a giant plug with a cap on it best the rear shock! There is also a free plug down by the gear sensor as well.. I remember my 08 had a fee empty ports/sockets. But this 2011 has way more .. no idea what they do either ...

The giant plug with the cap by the shock is the connector for the dealer's computer "Digital Wrench" diagnostic tool. It taps directly into the ECM.

I just pulled the cover off below the seat. My rear O2 sensor is in fact disconnected. Couldn't find the harness side of the plug, but I didn't look real hard.

The plug by the gear sensor is for the reverse motor option.
