I have had several problems with my ipod system. I have burnt up two ipod nanos so far. The mute button would not turn back on and the system on/off switch did not work with the ipods. The bike is in the shop getting the electrical system looked at.

Wow. first I have heard of the iPod getting damaged! My first cord had issues, but the iPod was never damaged. After the cord was swapped out, it works great!-----Metalguy

What was your Ipod doing (or not doing) that caused you to get a new lead-in wire?

Thanks

Mine was just shutting off in the middle of a song, and I would have to turn the radio on/off to get it to play again. Many times, it would not turn on, and show AUXwithout playing. -----Metalguy

I fried two iPod nanos with a defective iPod cable from Victory. With the replacement cable all seems fine.

The reason there are all these problems with the iPod cable is that to the best of my knowledge, Polaris did not license the 30-pin connector from Apple, thereby getting Apple's support and suppliers for the connectors. Many Chinese companies make counterfeit 30-pin iPod connectors and unfortunately many suffer from quality control. I believe the Victory cable is one of these counterfeits.

Flatsix, my first one wouldn't charge sometimes, would shut down entirely others. It would also play through a single speaker occasionally. The second one did exactly the same less the single speaker issue. It isn't bike related and as Hippo pointed out is completely an issue with the leads.

I heard the same thing at the 2008 Sturgis Party. There was a Apple Rep/Victory owner that said the Ipod cable wasn't licensed.
