Noticed something odd, I replaced the turn signal lamps on my 14 Vision with clear ones, and now my headlight isnt working. My center driving light still works fine as does everything else, but no headlamp. I didnt cut any wires nor did I unplug any connectors other than the radio, cigarette lighter, driving light plug, hazard lamp plug and heated grips plug... basically just the things I needed to in order to remove the console and fairing.

I am curious what could cause this? Is there some innocuous little plug somewhere that I might of inadvertently dislodged? Also does anyone have a wiring schematic for the bike so that I can actually try tracing the circuit? Thanks!

Fuse is good. Nothing was cut or touched ground, all I did was unplug the radio/console assembly. Now that everything is reconnected, headlights are dead.

I had both bulbs burn out on my Vision at the same time -it does happen. Put some new bulbs in and see?

130 miles on the bike and both bulbs burn out simultaneously while I just happen to be removing the fairing? Brother I need to go buy some lottery tickets!

While im sure its possible, im thinking its not probable. My assumption is that there is a connector in the harness that I might of bumped or knocked loose somehow, but with no schematic I have no idea where to start looking

Did you just turn the key on or did you actually try to start the bike? Some of the newer bikes, (I think, don't quote me on this one) you have to at least bump the starter to get the headlights to come on. Suppose to be a feature that helps reduce the drain on the battery when starting the bike. Mine is an older '08 and the lights will come on as soon as I turn the key on, not sure about the newer ones but I heard they were suppose to go to this.

I just went out to the garage and confirmed this on my 13, the headlights do not come on with the key. Bike is supposed to be running before they come come on. The driving light is on a seperate switch, so it will turn on/off with the key on.

MANY YEARS AGO. i had a Chrysler Lebanon and it had 4 headlight bulbs that were retractable. I was at walmart one night and got into my car, turned it on and went to turn the headlights on and I saw a giant FLASH.. all 4 lights burnt out at the same time.. i thought for sure it was a fuse or something else. i mean... 4 lights.. not just one... 4 !!! but it was all 4. i replaced them and never had another problem with them again... not saying this vision it burnt out. but weird things like this happened to me before

Now that's funny!!

BTW, the last time my headlights failed they both failed at the same time. I used to run the high beams all the time and kept losing the bulbs on a regular basis. I stopped using the high beams during the day and haven't lost a bulb since and that's like 65K miles ago.
