You get to see it here. I just got the tire mounted last night. I put about 10 miles on it then decided I need to video this thing.

GoPro Hero3 with the waterproof housing. I stuck a mount to the underside of the rear of the bike and used extensions to get it down to a good position. Ah hell, here's a picture:

The mounts and extensions aren't very rigid hanging there but it got the job done.

The video was taken near my home. I took a round-a-bout twice, got up to 90, made a u-turn in the road, and did S Turns toward the end. The S-Turns were so aggressive you should be able to hear me scrape on both directions.

Hope you enjoy.

Oh, I pretty much ruined the case and lens cover. The rocks that tire threw up at it did it's worse. Oh well. Anything for you guys.

If you group ride, that tire could be brutal to anyone behind you.

I found some Yamaha old school mud flaps on Ebay that I mounted to my Hitchdoc so my buds don't get sprayed behind me. Works great and protects my trailer too when I'm pulling it.

Nice tire. I do prefer run flats and especially the 175 Dunlop Wintersport. I like it so much I have 2 extras under the bed waiting their turns.

I bet that tire is a very smooth ride.

Did over 100 miles today. I can't believe it but I feel ZERO car tire characteristics. Even pushing the bike around in uneven holes and slopes was not an issue like it used to be on my VTX. I'm in awe. It is so nice and unnoticed when I ride and move the bike around that I may swap rim/tire setups with my wife's XCT. If it's just as unnoticed on hers she may also convert to the DarkSide!

Thanks for the video Mike. What size and brand of tire are you using?

The tyre looks like it has good contact with the road at all times, especially when going straight which is when serious braking should occur. Could be an advantage as well as cost and more miles per tyre.

Thanks for the great video Mike. It really shows a lot about the contact patch of the tire. It is very impressive! I know I will be thinking in that direction, when it is time for a new rear tire!. Sorry you ruined your lens and case doing it. :-( Thanks again!

Thanks for posting the video. That was a great view of how the darkside tire works so well. The Ney sayers can't argue with that proof.
I see it's a must to get a mud flap mounted to the trailer hitch like Okie Vision recommended. Even with a trailer Bra, extra protection is certainly needed.
I'm envious of your tire. I have been looking high and low trying to find one, but I've turned up empty. Haven't been able find one.

I also would like to know What tire brand, size & air pressure you were running ??? Thanks for the video, it shows me why I like the feel of my Bridgestone G019 @ 37 lbs for one up. Lots of rubber on the road!
