Cleveland, GA | Went to my dealer today for a new set of tires (19,000 miles on the front one and 14,000 on the back). When I left, my bill was over $1,500! Seems they have recently begun stocking a lot of Vision accessories and I made the mistake of walking into the showroom. I rode away with my new tires... and driving lights... and highway pegs... and lower wind deflectors... oh... and new brake pads on front. I have got to stay away from that showroom. Every time I go in for service, I leave with other stuff. Thank the good Lord that I don't get into adding chrome, or I would REALLY be in trouble. So far She Who Must Be Obeyed hasn't said too much - but it is only a matter of time... |

Brighton, MI | Well when it comes to that you are not the lone ranger it happens to most of us. Its called the home depot effect. Thats how I ended up buying the bike in the first place, Let us know what you think about highway pegs and wind deflectors. And good luck with the gate keeper |

Perry Hall, MD | Money well spent. Tires, lights, and brake pads all because you know how much she loves you and wants you to be safe, as well as looking out for her when she is on the back. Wind deflectors because you read on here how much they effect airflow around the passenger and you wanted her to be more comfortable. Highway pegs only because when you stretch out with them you can lean back into her loving arms.
Quite admirable of you to be thinking of her with every purchase. |

I also find it's difficult to visit my dealer... last time I walked with trunk liners and came really close to buying matching mesh jackets. I am sworn to hold off on bike accessories until I have completed a full season of riding. (or at least until I make my last payment in December, lol!) |

Rider Haggard was a great author, but actually, I hadn't read that particular book. I'll have to look it up. I got it from John Mortimer's Rumpole of the Bailey books. I think he picked up the phrase from Haggard.

Marysville Washngton | So, I am curious on the addition of the driving lights. Do they increase night time sight distance or is it to be seen rather than see? I ask this because I am so impressed with the HID at night. I am used to very poor night illumination from the other bikes I have had. |

Perry Hall, MD | Put mine on when I bought the bike, so I really can't answer the question directly. Things to know, they are intended to only be on when using the low beams. My morning commute is generally in the dark through some twisting country roads. I will usually go to low beams through the curves and like that the driving lights follow the wheel rather than the frame to catch those deer hiding along the side of the road.
As for being seen, on the old bike I always used the high beams during the day. With the extra points of light from the HID and driving lights it's low beams until I need the extended illumination. |

What dealership did you go to? It seems all the ones I visit have very little in the way of accessories. Well, at least you'll have something to do installing all the new toys and you'll stay out of trouble.

I've had the driving lights since day one on my Vision. I have them more for frontal visual enhancement. The three lights give oncoming traffic a better idea of what you are. I change them from the 35w to 55w bulbs. At night, there is some added light close to the bke, your low and hi beam headlight provide basically all the light at night. |

They are under new management and have REALLY stocked their showroom - Vision accessories, helmets, leather gear, gloves, etc. The new management believes that they have to spend money to make money, and that by having the stuff in stock encourages people to buy. I know it did for me! Oh, I went ahead and had them install everything while they had the bike up on the rack, so it isn't a project for me. Looking forward to seeing you again. |
