Anyone ride these yet with your Vision? How did you make out. I'm headed there in July. I plan to remove trunk and go in "street" configuration.

Be careful on the Cherahola heading east. I forgotten the mile markers, but a couple of the turns are very sneaky decreasing radius, and have killed many a motorcyclist.

Have a ball! Stay away from the centerline in left hand turns.

Be careful to not fixate, always turn your head into turn and focus on the apex, not the pine tree or marker cross on the side of the road.

I'm sure you know all this already, sorry.

Of course, you'll be wearing full gear and a full-face helmet, right?

OK, sorry again, that's none of my business.

+1 for lowtone9

For some it feels better in the twisties to add air to the rear shock for a firmer ride..

Here is a short video that gives the do's and don't's for the dragon.

I have ridden both of them a few times on my Vision and several other times on my past bikes. Bruce Bricker and I did both just two weeks ago while out in Helen, GA for the SE Victory Rally. Both are great roads to ride and the Vision handles them like a sport bike. The traffic on the dragon two weeks ago today was really heavy and I got stuck behind a couple of bikes pulling trailers for most of the dragon. There were 5 to 6 cops on the dragon also.

Just to show you how well the Vision can handle the dragon check out this two part video that Kevin Ferguson and I did last year on our Vision’s. We mounted a video camera to Kevin’s front fairing to record this and I was right behind him on my Vision. You hear me pulling up right behind him at the end part 2 and after Kevin takes the camera off the bike he pans back to capture the grin on my face.

Enjoy!

Here is a picture of every available Vision color on the skyway. This was taken during the southeast Victory rally that took place a few weeks ago...

A buddy of mine just rode the Dragon on Wednesday of this week and said there was a lot of construction going on there.  They are working on the shoulders of the road and there is a lot of loose gravelly stuff along the sides that forces you towards the double yellow line.  He had to completely stop a couple of times for road crews.  Be careful out there.

It cools down nicely around the top of the Skyway... temp dropped about 15 degrees or so from what it had been..

Thanks, the video was takin about 8:15 AM the morning of May 18th of last year (2008) when the traffic on the Dragon was low. The tempature was about 58 degrees.

Just got back from there and the Vision handled it fine. Watch out for the extra LE presence....
Another nice ride is to hop over the top of Cherokee on 441N.
Unfortunately the trip was cut short with a crash. A good friend wrecked on his HD EG which I would assume will be totalled, and he broke his back (he'll heal). So be careful and as previously posted ride your own pace.

Just got back from a ten day ride down there. Left pa to get friends in Ohio. Was heading to Memphis and the Ozarks in Ark. but got detoured from the rain and ended up on Fontana lake. Got a great deal at the resort there and rode the hell bender and dragon Wednesday the 17th. Passed a black Vision twice (opposite side) never did meet. The bike got alot of attention from crowds all around down there. Was a great experience (got the t-shirt). There was construction. Looks like they are making asphalt pull offs rather than old dirt and rock. Only got stopped once on the way south, but it did not take from the ride. It seems that you get prepared for the dragon... the roads that seemed to mess with your head more were the outlying roads like the skyway and hell bender because they would lull you into a sense of sweeper enjoyment and then smack you in the face with a hairpin out of nowhere.. I had a couple tightening of the butt cheeks episodes but the bike handled well. All in all, a great trip and well worth the detour.
