On the vision there are the heated grip switch the 4 way switch and the head light switch.
So I want to put a switch in the blank hole for my vest the best the dealer can tell me is use another 4 way.
I don't really want that.
Does victory or do you guys know of one that will fit.
Thanks

When I got the bike I put another HID - PIAA switch in the blank, use it for some accent lights. Don't see why it wouldn't work for the vest. The grip switch may also work.

What he said.

I put another HID switch in for my auxiliary lights.

I'd pop one of them out and go to a good auto parts store. They should be able to find one that fits. Just for fun, I'd label it EJECTOR SEAT or AFTERBURNER.

Ive gone down this route......so heres my words of wisdom.

First I did find a cheapy $5 switch at the auto parts store that fit....with some VERY minor filing of the hole....like just a few passes with a flat file. Doesnt show and then the cheap switch snaps right in.

However.....the switches didnt last. The cheapo's are NOT waterproof. Now if you dont actually ride your bike in the rain....or let it set outside in the rain this might work for you. It didnt for me. The second rain storm I was in the switch got wet enough that it shorten "on" .... ie....water bridged the contacts and my lights stayed on dimly even when the switch was in the off position.

I priced the factory 4way and HID light switches and ordered the cheapest....which was the HID if I remember right. However they were out of stock....so I paid the extra $9 for the 4way switch. I think the total with the plastic bezel and little gasket was almost $38 or something like that.

However....my switch works fine now.....its water proof.....and I dont have to worry about it leaving my lights on 3K miles from home and stranding me in some campground or behind an abandoned building - MONEY WELL SPENT.

You could also try a marine parts store. They should have a dashboard switch that will work. I did a little shopping for one, but changed my mind. Since the driving lights I added are LEDs, they draw very little amperage, so I just tied into the HID light switch for the Victory driving light.

If they hadn't we would not be able to talk about it...so it's a good thing.

Personally, I think a lot of victory designs were smart INCLUDING this. I like that they prewired for power outlets and GPS' and whatnot. And I think it was a GREAT idea to have a hole that could hold a switch there. Prevents customers from trying to find something that fits and works. Now we can DEFINITELY find a switch at the victory dealer, and we know EXACTLY where to put it without messing up the looks of the bike or having to drill.

Those switches are from Otto. They are an exact fit.

You can't get them except from dealers. The page has a link to the catalog which tells you how create the type of switch you want. You can even get LED indicators built in. I think they require you to order from a distributor.

I used the 4th position for the PIAA fog light kit on the front forks. It works great and utilized the switch for something useful. I didnt like the idea of wiring those lights into the existing wiring. My only complaint is that they are not back lit cause at night you cant find em at all

I found some waterproof switches here that might work.  http://shop.vetcosurplus.com/catalog/default.php?cPath=406_416

I'm thinking of switching out my heated grips switch to a red/green (red-high/green-low) on/off/on: http://shop.vetcosurplus.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=406_416&products_id=8783

and my HID to a blue on/off:  http://shop.vetcosurplus.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=406_416&products_id=8779

Just make sure you get a 12V and not a 110V.  They are listed right next to each other.

Nice find! Does anyone currently have their console off and able to provide dimensions of the cut outs? The ones Songfan has linked to are for a 1.450" X 0.835" cut out. Its been a while since I've had my switches out. The website also has miniature switches that use a 1.45" X 0.600" cut out but they are only available as SPST. I can never remember which way is high, this would be great for me! LOL!

I got bored today so I added a 4th switch, I found it at a local electrical store. It may be a weather problem only time will tell but I have set it to operate the HID and the original HID switch operates a dash LED I fitted. Although the rocker is a round switch it went straight in the hole and the red cover is the same size as the hole so I could use the rubber gasket under it.

Seeing a switch on the Vision would scare me, it looks like the battle damage override switch on a tank.

I just saw your pics of the LEDs in another thread.  Awesome!  I also love the switch cover!

LOL - reminds me of going to 'guns' on a fighter - flip up the switch and pull the trigger
