I finally have purchased my second bike. It only took 16 years but I finally got another one. Sold the first one and thought I would go right back out and get another one. Somewhere along the way got sidetracked, BUT NOW I AM BACK IN THE SADDLE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just bought on Friday, September 28, 2007, a new 0 miles (unheard of) Victory Vision Street Premium, Black. Bought it from FRS Powersports in Memphis, TN. No test ride (and I begged), no endorsement so they wouldn't chance it (I understand, sorta).

I rode it home Friday and didn't even make it a quarter of a block before someone leans out a window, at a stop sign, screaming "Wicked Cool Bike, is that a new design!" I have had people almost get sideways whiplash turning their head around trying to see this bike. At first, I thought it was just me, strikingly goodlookin' and all. Unfortunately, all comments have been made about the bike and not me. Even young Twenty something hunnies to get the blood cooking, eyes all lit up, staring in your direction, then say "I love your bike". Where is my youth with no wife?

Anyway I digress, Trip home absolute joy to ride. Yes, it does have different sounds. Doesn't sound anything like I remember on a 1977 Kawasaki KZ1000 inline four. Nice throaty rumble, not to intrusive at all. Roll the throttle and it comes alive. 3rd gear and at 75 just gets your blood going and still got three more gears to go. I keep forgetting there is a 6th gear. 5th gear is fun in just driving, all you do is roll the throttle and it comes to life in a hurry. I am not exactly following the break-in guidelines but then again I never do.

The bike is absolutely the way I was hoping it would handle. Heavy, but maneuverable at slow speeds. Cornering, it leans and leans, I didn't manage to scrape a floorboard, I keep tipping it more to see what it will do. Seems to take input from handlebars to lean with absolute authority. Point it where you want and it will go. It to me is way nimbler than I ever would have thought. Getting into the throttle coming through a corner and having to lean even further and then pop right back up to straighten it back out. Couldn't be happier.

Wife a little nervous, but the heated seats and the electric windshield couldn't make her happier. Oh, yeah, the little plastic wind deflectors under the fairing do make quite a bit of difference for her and me for knocking even more wind or adding more wind. I don't have the tour pak yet, but I ordered it. She was a little nervous about nothing keeping her from falling off backwards. So, far she is lovin' it. BTW, she was sold on Harley and loves this bike.

Pollolittle,

I drooled over that bike for an hour and a half last wednesday. Couldn't even bring myself to sit on it because I knew it would be going to it's rightful owner. I went to FRS on saturday and they told me all about the guy who begged for a test ride without the motorcycle endorsement. Apparently you made quite the impression but the stakes were just too high liability-wise from their end. I'm so glad you bought it anyway. Obviously the right bike for the right guy.

I spent saturday drooling over the Silver Street Premium that they got in friday night. It was still in the back on the battery charger. The guys at FRS are super. I'll let you know the day I get my Cherry Tour and you can fill me in on what it has been like to be the local rock star.

Congrats! You deserve it.

I was there on Saturday between 12:00 and 1:30. Of all things, picking up my car. I saw the silver Street and didn't like the color as much as the darker black or cherry. Wife wanted the cherry but decided she liked the black one. Boy am I glad, I like the black one also. Do tell, what were they saying about the crazy guy with money in hand but no way to ride?

They just mentioned that you were really frustrated with not being able to sign up for one of the scheduled rides and then not allowed to test drive your own bike. No big deal. I know that one of the owners of a Victory dealership doesn't have his M endorsement either and he couldn't even drive a Vision at the corporate unveiling! (He's been riding bikes for over 40 years.) Lawyers win.

Pollo, I feel like I'm congratulating a new dad on his first born! Congratulations, man! I read your posts and I can hear the joy and excitement in your voice.

Keep the pics of the new baby coming, but post them bigger 'cause I'm getting older and my eyesight ain't what it used to be.

Up to 625 miles now, in only thirteen days. Not bad, hopefully I can keep up with the gas bill. There hasn't been a day go by without someone leaning out of a car window, "Who makes that!" or "Awesome bike". Thumbs up going down the road, luckily it has all been good. Haven't heard one disgruntled person talk bad or comment negatively toward the bike. To me, that's pretty good.
Wife and I rode down to a concert on it, I make it a point to let her know to look around. She doesn't believe me when I tell her about the looks and comments I get. She finally has started looking around and giggling about the people that are leaning over and up and out of their seats, just to get a look at it. At first you kinda get lost in the feeling of "I am the Man" then you hear "I am the bike, feel me, you know you love me. That's it take another look! OHHHH YEAHHH!". I almost want to puke my bike has got more self-loving gratification than I do. But I too am drawn to it. Dang it! I digress back to what I was talking about.
Ride is still great. Had a chance to try out the heated handgrips and seat. ChaChing, how did I ever live without that feature! Wife really enjoyed the heated seat. She was looking for me to get more air off of her. So, I am looking at the higher windshield and lower wind deflectors. Will see how the trunk pak works for her first before I get the lowers. We don't have riding gear per se, but are looking at some but not sure which will work.
Seems to still have plenty of power and two up excellent power. Haven't messed with the air shock yet, too busy riding. Cannot Complain, Too COOOL.

Oh yeah, I put 5.6 gallons in it this morning, around 246 miles. That is right at 44 mpg. The avg mpg readout was showing around 47. Not off too far. The fuel needle was sitting at the last line on the guage. The fuel light on the dash was on, including a readout in the dash showing loFuel. A little tough to fill, got to get a better way, without having fuel splash up. I wonder if you could modify something like the cars use with a little flapper, that would help.

Take a look at the "McCuff" fuel filler. http://mccuff.com/store/ Maybe it'll suit you. I ordered one but not here yet. Pretty interesting. Jim

If you pull back the boot around the pump nozzle it helps disable the auto shutoff. At least here in so cal. Im not sure how the pumps are outside this state.

I do the same thing. Just hold back the spring loaded nozzle rubber. Be carefull, you could overfill in a hurry.

Here in Tennessee, they don't have those handy boots around the nozzle. You have old school piece of metal nozzle. I got to looking at my buddies softail and his has an insert in it like a car. It has a plate with two holes in it. A hole with a flapper that you put your nozzle in and then there is a little air vent hole just above it. No spalsh. Why couldn't they do that to this one?

Thanks, your right I will probably have to be hiding the keys soon, both of them like to ride. Makes it good for me. I also own four wheelers and we ride quite a bit on those. Mr. thumbs up, has a little bit of a story. The very day I bring the bike home, I pull up on the drive way grinning ear to all the way around the back of my head. This little fella, comes rolling up on his bicycle runs right into the side of the bike (thankfully he hits the tip over protection)! Looks up at me with just as innocent as he can be and smiling says "Hi Daddy!" in just the sweetest softest cute voice. All I could do was start laughing. Seems like they are always doing something to surprise me. A little shocking but still surpising.

I had the opportunity to test the tip over feature. Pushing the bike into the garage from the wrong side of the bike, didn't want to walk ALL THE WAY AROUND THE BIKE. Pushed it forward where I wanted it. I went to set it back on the kickstand and lo and behold the kickstand was no where to be found. I felt it go further than it should have and tried to pull it back, It told me "I don't think so, I am going to try these cool kickouts." Sure enough, over it went. Kerthunk. Oh, crap! First thing through your mind is what did I screw up this time. Got to looking at it on its side and sure enough nothing touching. Pull the handlebar toward you and grab ahold of the back handle and push backwards and the bike comes up pretty effortlessly. I even went so far to try and pull it over the tip overs, unable to do with a lot of effort. I even sat on it on its side trying to see if it would stay on its tipovers. It did I was the one having the problem trying to stay in the saddle. I have seen people discuss about tuching the floorboards and disappointed that it wouldn't lean further. If you need a bike to lean further than what I sat on "GET A SPORTBIKe"! I don't know that I have ever leaned a bike that far over. Now if I knew it would hang into that area of lean without losing traction I might give it a try. It just seemed like a long lean.

Here is a review of the McCuff. I really like it.

I was pretty impressed by the tipover protection also. I was a bit leary at first, but also had some folks try to get the wheels off the ground once it was down... and no luck..
