Hello everyone

Just wanted to say hello for south texas. I am currently looking for a new bike. Had hondas suzuki's and even and old sporty through the years. But i must say none have sang to me like the Vison has. Been fighting with myself to wait and get a test ride before pulling the trigger on one. its getting harder and harder as the days go by. I am getting alot of good information from reading the posts here. But anyway i have rambled enough. (sitting on a oil well location late at night gives youtime for that).

I will be sneaking some comments in when i can now that i have broken the ice.

Ride safe

I have a 08 Vision in Maine, going nuts waiting to ride it, if you like power , handling, comfort, reliability , fuel mileage, this is the best decision you well make. It is a bike you look for reasons to ride it. Have been riding for over 40 years. Had dozens of bikes including GSXR1100, this is the best bike I have ridden or owned, don' t delay. I have cancer and this bike allows me to ride in comfort. We have limited time on this planet, ride safe and enjoy. Let us know how you make out.

Starchasr,
You'll love it, and if you're doing 14X14 hitches, you'll love it even more. The Vision has long legs and just begs for long multi-day rides.

Don't know where your rig is, but there is a small dealership in Laredo too. Last time I was there was months ago and they had very limited stock, and no Visions. They seemed friendly and willing to deal. Gave me a great deal on some parts anyway.

The San Antonio dealership usually carries a decent stock too. They usually have 2 or 3 visions on the floor.

Never been to the Houston dealership.

The biggest problem I have with the VV is, leaving the gas station. Everyone wants to look, talk and tell me how beautiful it is.
It is a tough life...

I was in the oil field for 14 years, 3 states and 2 countries. Be safe out there! Now to the bike, my 08 is amazing. I went to sign papers on a new HD and came home with a used Vision. I had test road one the year before and when I saw this one at the HD dealer I knew what to do, BUY IT!! No regrets!

I will be the first person here to say this, do not buy any bike until you have ridden it, and I mean really ride it. Also ride some of the other bikes you're considering, and then you will have something to compare.

Many Victory owners have been saying for years - "Ride one, and you will get one". Victory listened to us and is now using the "Ride one, You'll own one" tag line for their advertising.

But don't listen to us, make your own choice, because in the end, it is about the ride.

Head to the closest Vic dealer and tell them you need to ride one before you buy; most dealers around here will come up with a bike to demo if the truck isn't scheduled for a while.

Hey Starchasr....I have an 08 Vision and llive in Corpus as well. I bought mine at Polaris West in Katy. I wanted to buy local but could not strike a deal with them. I was looking at Harley's when looking for a bagger but took a test ride on a Vision and knew that would be my next bike.

Good luck and hope you get one.

wow lots of encouragement. I am trying to get my wifes avalance and the house paid off this year. Plus Hit ia hell of a down payment. I am not on a rig i do the well testing and bring wells into production. sometimes im out on location for quite a while(117 days straight is my record) so i get lots of time to hang out here and see what everyone is saying. I never have seen a vision on the streets of Corpus, Might help the wife to sign off on it sooner if she saw one on the road. I can be so devious sometimes.

Ride Your ride and enjoy it. Everyone else is doing the same.

That's one of the best things about them though.

We had four of them travelling together today between San Antonio and Camp Wood. First time I actually was able to watch another Vision for any extended period of time on the road.

I found out they look almost as good from any angle as they do from the cockpit!

I worked for a well service company, Dowell Schlumberger. I was mostly in the shop but did some time on locations as well. My record is no where as long as yours, only 73 hours.
All the dealers around here as well will let you ride before you buy. This is actually one of the reasons I would not buy another brand other than a Victory or HD. You can't tell me that people go to car dealers and just buy one with out a test ride. I only did that once but it was a work van. Did not really matter much.
Good luck on what ever you decide.

Rumor has it the Victory dealer in Corpus doesn't play well with others.  But I would start local, you never know how the stars will line up.  As you check around though, you'll feel you got a better deal when they do work with you.

It seemed the Houston dealership, the one South around Sugarland (???) was okay, but I was just passing through.  I stopped at the Polaris dealer there looking for the Victory dealer and they wanted to know why I wanted to go to the Victory dealer.  He then called my bike names, like Hammer Head Shark and tried to sell me a used Gold Wing, saying it was better.  I just laughed and shock my head as I left.  I had to stop and ask for directions again because I think they told me wrong to start with.

Plenty of us Vision riders in the Houston area and within local Victory Chapter (Bayou City Victory Riders) as part of the VMC. Many also frequent both sites. We make every effort to get together each month for a meeting/meal and also a chapter ride. There are also many impromtu rides that just pop up in addition to the group events such as regional/national Victory meets. Check out Mancuso Powersports Gulf Freeway here in Houston ....they are the dealer with probably the best selection. If you have all the proper gear and a MC license, you can get a demo ride. Also, Victory just released it's schedule for their Demo Truck. If you can, hit any of these locations (one in Houston think in the Mar/Apr timeframe) and you can test out multiple Vic bikes. The BCVR chapter usually help out the local dealer when the Demo truck comes to town and lead the rides as well as answer as many questions as we can. Then we hand you off to the sales team..LOL.

Best of luck in your search and decision. Let us know if we can be of any help. Tons of info here and on the VMC...search feature will become your new fav item until you pull the trigger on the bike!!!

Good bike so far, bought an 11 last fall and have only a couple of thousand miles Madeline, setting it up for long rides this spring and summer. Good luck on your search but I would ride them all and ride them like you owned it.

Wow. Never really expected this much response to a simple hello post. i have been in the corpus dealership a couple times just looking around. they had one vision but that was a couple years ago. Was still on my 84 V65 Sabre. wasnt really in the market for a bike but i sure eyeballed the vision that was in there. I really havent tried talking price with them. I am trying to set up to get a couple days off when the demo truck hits corpus. If so i will definately be trying out the vision. That is really the only bike i am Looking at so the Wife and I can take some scenic rides. she isnt as hard core about long trips as i am. When i got out of the army in 91 i had an 84 wing and rode it from alabama to CA up to Washington state and then back to texas. Took 3 weeks to do it just trying to see the country. I will say that i do not want to ride in CA again. City folk make this backwoods country boy newrvous.
