Salt Lake City | I, like many of you probably do, have several pair of gloves I wear. I wear a gaultlet glove when the riding gets cold and a great pair of fingerless leather gloves during the summer. I'd like to find a classic glove, preferrably in leather, that is waterproof(so I can toss out my neoprene) and comfortable enough to wear for most of my riding. I'd like to get something similar for the wife. Any suggestions?

Rhode Island | Not sure you will find any leather glove that is water proof but try this place, I have some of their elkskin gloves and use the waterproofing products they sell and have had very good results.

| I have dear skin gloves that are so soft and comfortable. I leather condition them twice a year and it seams to keep out most of the water but not all.
I did stop by a boat jet sky store and bought some gloves from them for rain riding. There warm and and dry you should look into a pair. |

Mt. Vernon, WASH. | My two biggest 'moth to a flame' moments are kitchen gadgets and gloves. I've got a pair of deerskins I got @ a Western wear store, that are so old they are sunburned yellowish red on the backs they look like something you'd expect to see on Jimmy Stewart. The nice thing about deerskin over what used to keep your hamburger dry is that deerskin won't turn to cement if they get wet like cowhide will.
I also have a pair of SULLIVAN Bros buffalo 'Trooper' style that wear like sheet steel. My biggest glove gripe is the seam along most thumbs particularly @ the thumb tip seem to be designed to create an irritation pressure point. I also use MECANIX gloves when it's really hot out, suede palms and mesh backing.

Rhode Island | Don't know that I have seen the Sullivan's, although their elk skin look the same as those sold by Fox Creek, I agree Lee Parks has some real nice gloves, they will probably be my next pair.

Ruskin, Fl | I used to wear fingerles gloves with the gel in the palm. Then I had a run in with some gravel and went down. My most painful injury was the missing skin from 3 of my fingertips. A Sheriff's motor cop stopped to check on me. Advised me that "that's going to hurt". GOING TO! they are already on fire. He explained that it is a very common injury in slow to moderate speed crashes. He went on to say the they are not allowed to ride without full finger gloves at any time per their SOPs. I found a pair of gloves with a full leather on the front and mesh on the back. I don't care how hot it is I don't ride withouth them. |

Baltimore, Md | I also stopped using my fingerless gloves and switch between 1 pair of heavy full gauntlet for the really cold and two Held perf. leather gloves for warm. The lighter pair are Held Air gloves with less 'armor' features and are very light and breathable and good for around town, local rides especially when really warm. The somewhat heavier Held gloves are the Held Air Stream which are beefier but still pretty light and fit really well. The palm is Kangaroo so it feels really light and thin and gives great feel and control on the bars and buttons while being breathable on top and a great mid cuff with large velcro flap. These have become my favorite, replacing my RevIt Monsters which used to be my favorite. |

| It seems like all leather gloves will eventually get waterlogged, even my Tourmaster electrics, after enough hours in the wet stuff. Having a trip to DC coming up in a few days, I scrambled to find a solution. I should be taking delivery today of some Aerostich glove covers. They appear to be made of rip-stop nylon, and should fit over my gauntlet electrics..... Hope it keeps them dry. Nothing worse than waterlogged leather gloves, especially when you are counting on the heating elements in cold weather! |

Salt Lake City | Just got two pair(one for the wife, one for me) of "HUGGER" waterproof leather gloves. They claim/guarantee them to be 100% waterproof, even if you dip the fingers in standing water. About $40 apiece. We shall see! |

Gettysburg, 2008 Tour Premium | Back in the late 70's there was a Honda dealer on Market street in the shadow of the now abandoned Youngstown Sheet and tube steel mill that sold winter welding gloves. They were a heavy leather lined gauntlet with wool fleece lining and sized loose. They were the absolute best cool weather glove I ever wore. I found a company in Canada that sold the almost same glove but were heading into summer and were out of stock. I have searched every industrial catalog and cannot find anything as simple as these were, everything is more specialized now. I am throwing this out for all who search around for gloves, just in case. |

minnesota | I wear these (http://www.aerostich.com/3-season-vegan.html) all summer and until it is just too cold, then go to a lined leather glove. When I am riding my hands do not feel sweaty but when I stop if I don't take them off right away they start to build up heat. Wore them in 106 degrees across Kansas last summer OK. They are not too bad in the rain - you will get wet but I turn on the grip heaters to keep my hands warm until they dry out. I purchased a pair of First Gear waterproof leather gauntlet gloves on clearance this winter but have not really had a test for them yet. |

Northern NJ | For very rainy days, I have a pair of Playtex-style blue gloves in a really large size that go over my existing gloves. I think I got them from Aerostich.
A few years back I had a set of Hippo Hands on my Speedmaster and even used them on my Vegas.
Ah, I'll take the Vision fairing and heated grips instead, thanks. lol |
