It seems I may be in the minority hear but I feel the Dunlop E3 tires give a less that complient ride. I had the E3 bias plies on a Harley Ultra and they rode so rough that the shock seals blew out. I started looking at different brands and seeing what is available. Looking at the literature for Bridgestone and Avon I noticed that they do not spec their front tire, the ones for the GL1800 (130/70/R18) for anything narrower than a 3.50 rim. So I checked Dunlop and the same recomended rim size 3.50 to 4.00. The Vision indicates in the owners manual the rim size is 3.00.

What Gives? I know obviously they will work but what should I be concirned about if anything?

The rim sizes according to Victory on both my '04 KP and '08 Vision are 3.0" and 5.0". As far as I have been able to determine Dunlop, Avon, and Metzler, in the proper size tires to fit those two bikes, all call for 3.5" and 5.5" wheels. I'm on my second set of Metzlers on the KP with no problems attributable to rim size. I wish I could actually measure nominal 3.5" and 5.5" wheels and the Victory 3.0" and 5.0" and see what the actual difference, if any exists, is. I wonder if the Victory designation of their wheels is nominal and they are actualy closer to 3.5" and 5.0". At any rate, it seems quite a few people have used Avons and Metzlers without rim size problems, and many, including the factory, have used Dunlops which call for 3.5" and 5.5" rims.

Avon is about to put there corresponding tires on the recomended list to the Vision. Even though the recomended rim size is different in a comversation with a rep he said the bead in the Vic rims will work fine.
