I was wondering if there is a reason to take your bike to the dealer for the 1st service. I am going to be a long way away from the dealership that I am buying the bike from and I can change the oil my self and I'm cheap. Does it do anything with the warranty or anything?

I would suggest you hit up a dealer. Peace of mind is worth the $200 bucks. After that, you shouldn't have to go back for a while. I just wanted to make sure that everything they put together, was still in good working condition, and check all the recalls. I had to go over 170 miles to my dealer. It was worth it. The oil and filter change is beyond easy. It will only take you as long as it takes for the oil to drip out of the bike, and then add 10 minutes to that. I will be going at 10k, or within the next 2 months. I'm almost at 7k already.

Never hurts to have someone that knows what theyre looking for to check things over once in a while. Being a first year model, there is going to be things that the company is going to want feedback on. My dealer is having demo rides this weekend. Im going , not for the demo ride, but for a chance to talk to someone connected to the manufacturer. Dealers can only promise so much and then the company needs to get involved. I think Victory has finally realized the have a winner, and how they treat first time buyers has a bearing on their future. Every service? Thats a matter of personal choice. Once, maybe twice a year, couldnt hurt, may help. If your not going to do it your self though. The dealer is the place to take it for the first model year for up to date info on your Vision
