"On another note, my Harley buddies still rag me about buying a Victory and have stated that I should hope they don't abandon the bike business like they did the watercraft biz. I don't have a good answer for that one..."
Maybe if Harley hadn't given up making bowling pins they would have at least one good product to sell????

I inquired through Victory again about my VRA packet not received since
12/6/2007 delivery of my Vis. They referred me to the VRA- they had me in the system
but had not sent my packet. They didn't offer a reason for that , but said that I was covered-
just call wtih your VIN, and/or name and address. Now it will be 6 weeks to get it.
So, apparently, the hold up is with VRA and not Victory. Just FYI...

Thanks Jama for clearing that up. My bad to say it was the dealer, and VRA is not necessarily Victory. I would hope that VRA would offer a two full year membership for those affected to make up for the delay. Or at least some type of "sorry" perk.

Good thought Varyder...but isn't the VRA owned by Victory? If so, it's an internal problem and something that should be fixed asap. Again, in any business it's all about customer support.

I remember a good phrase about buying cars: The salesman sells you the first vehicle. The service department sells you the second.

With that in mind, the factory could be creating a future problem for the dealerships.

Personally, I've found the VRA site fairly useless. There's much better information on the Vision here.

I imagine that the VRA feels that there hasn't been a delay since
we are "covered" even if we haven't yet received a packet. Just as
long as they have a record of purchase. That would be my defense
argument if I was their attorney. But , PBR, you're so right
about the customer relations angle. They're missing that point
by a country mile IMO!

Thanks Jama. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who is seeing this void. I'm fortunate that I have a great dealer at Victory of South Florida, but there's only so much he can do. The limited contact I've had with Victory is nothing short of frustrating. It's amazing, such a ground-breaking bike as such poor customer support and communications.

I don't know about you, but honesty is the best way to handle bad situations. If they are having problems with its chrome supplier, why not just come clean and state that instead of releasing poor quality items, they would rather wait until it's right. If that's the case, that's a good answer. If not, just let us know the problem...we're adults and can deal with it. Instead, they prefer to keep us in the dark...this makes us look like fools being early adopters. Communication = Good.

Personally, other than the tail gunner tips, I didn't purchase a single piece of chrome as the salt air in South Florida requires too much maintenance and the rinsing of the bike after a scenic beach ride. That's one factor I really like about my "plastic" bike! Let those H-D guys be slaves to their bikes...I just like to ride.

Live to Ride or live to clean chrome? I choose to ride!

So what do we tell the Tow Truck Driver...Trust Me, I'm covered by the VRA? Imagine trying to get reimbursed from Victory!

Well, actually the VRA said that I would just have to give them the info and as long as they had a record of the sale, it would be the same as if
I had the card in hand. Sorry if I didn't make that part clear earlier.
I suppose if you had trouble soon after purchase, you would have to go
through your dealer to get an authorization or riembursment.
In either case, one would have to go through the VRA first, then they arrange
for the tow truck or other service.

I received my card (packet) about a month after taking delivery of the bike. I was already a member due to having my Kingpin. The first year is free, after that you need to pay up, can't remember what the cost is, but I remember it was relatively low. Also, the year starts from the date on the card, which on mine is about a month after my delivery. I'm pretty sure that is the way my Kingpin was also. It is though curious that "jama" took delivery a day after I took delivery and I got my card (packet) promply and his is still somewhere.

Las Vegas, Nevada USA baby!
Back when I received my "stuff" from VRA, I wrote a email letter to the good folks, and sent some pics. Here is a link of what they did with the letter and pics!
