does the helmet lock come with the neat springy cable too or optional? If so cost?

The price has to be a mistake. Better get them before they realize it (kind of like the unbelievably low T-Bag price that many of us got before they removed the "buy" button on their website).

$23 without cable
http://www.powersportjunkie.com/N-VISION-HELMETLOK-BLACK-RUBBERIZED...

$6.80 with cable
http://www.powersportjunkie.com/helmetlok-cable-p/TR-132176.htm

I'm sure the links above will be no good as soon as they realize the mistake. That's why I pasted the screenshot earlier in this thread.

Not so sure that there is a mistake. It looks like it is $23 for the lock and $6.80 for the cable (no lock). Same price range on multiple sites.

Yep, I was just about to hit the confirm payment button and I noticed the comma: "Helmetlok, Cable."

Try this one..it's free. Go to one of your local neighborhood police departments that supports this project and get a gun lock for pistols. The cable goes through the helmet D ring and it secures easily around the passenger grab bar. Takes up minimal room and they also work great for securing your saddlemen touring bag to the grab bars as well. Nothing has gotten up and walked away from my V so far. BTW...as a secondary function they also work well for securing your guns at home safely.

Looks like you are correct lennyb. Guess I just got lucky that someone didn't realized they are separate items and gave me both pieces.

GENTLEMAN~! And I =use the term loosely. The LOCK is $23 The CABLE, and the CABLE ONLY is $6.80!

Gotta watch them ads and read closely!!

Ooops, just realized this was already noted by lennyb. SORRY~!!!!!

I bought 2 Helmetloks with cables at the bike show in Cleveland for $20 a piece. Not a bad deal after all.

Okay after feeling like a dummy for buying just a cable and still wanting to buy the lock but not want to pay shipping again I found this instead much cheaper. Caribiner Style Combination Lock by Gear-Lok. Found them on ebay and Amazon.com for under $5, web links below. P.S. these are not rubber coated.
