Well I have been delaying this but I finally bit the bullet and ordered my passenger backrest from Witch Doctor. It was about $420 but I will feel better with the wife on the back having some security.

My 2008 VV is a Premium and has a trunk that I removed the first week I owned it. Never really liked that look and the MC handles way better without it. The down side was when the wife was on the back I always worried about her falling off the back. She is not an experienced rider and I spend too much time during our infrequent rides together to worry about her safety. She always says just put the trunk back on, but it changes the ride and with her being inexperienced (does not lean right, moves too much) I just did not like that combination. Now maybe we will ride together more since I will feel more comfortable with her safety.

So I settled on a backrest being a needed upgrade for me. It is not cheap like I said but in the end I think it won't kill the look of my VV, won't know it is there, and most important it is safer for my passenger.

Any of you riding with just a passanger backrest and no trunk? If so, any pictures?

Thanks,
Bill

Here's mine. That's the Vic backrest and rack. Overly priced but very good quality. I had the backrest modified a bit for her. The pad was too far back which kept causing her to lean back too far and slide forward. The extra layer of foam and a new cover fixed it. This one has been on three Visions already :-)

Does anyone make a cut down passenger backrest? I've considered adding one but 1) I don't have any intention of paying almost $500 and 2) I don't like the look of the full backrest. I don't plan on any passengers but I think it will look better with something back there.
