Great! Hwy27, I know how you feel. I went two days without riding because of the rain around here. But wait, it wasn't because of the rain and cold, in the 40's, but because of the way people drive when the weather changes. I was told yesterday because I rode, that I was 1) crazy and needed my head examined, 2) a sissy (by two other bikers who ride cruisers because I had a "windshield", yet they weren't riding, so I'll wear that badge proudly.) 3) to stop whinning (that was by my wife when I told her that it was going to rain and I should have drove my Jeep and her only reply was "booo hoooo". She knows me best.)

I lived in Wisconsin for 2 years in Elroy and worked at Fort McCoy. I didn't ride then, but there is some good riding roads 'round dem parts.

Fred:

I know right where Cashton is...I get all over the state for work including your neck of the woods on occasion.

Isn't that great when you finally take the cover off, turn the key and it fires up...it's a "willie-tingler"...(sorry ladies). Went riding this afternoon today too...74 degrees on the bike thermometer but way gusty...30+ from the SW quite enough to have to lean into the lateral blows. If it were summer it was one of those days where it was so windy that it might make it that miserable so you'd bag it. Me and the B-H went out and made an afternoon of it...screw the wind!

Enjoy your "back yard"...the roads by you are right in the heart of "God's Country"...I wish others on this website could appreciate/visit the bluffs and Mississippi river road route that is your playground...way gorgeous!

Hey...there's a thought! Everyone should list the "one bike route" you just gotta do before you die!!!! Put them all together in a little booklet..."Vision-Riders Visions"...or put pics. together of these awesome rides and incorporate them into one of those wall hanging calendar's...I'd buy one! It would help get me through the winter.

The other thing our fellow Vision brethren that DO get to ride year round…may not realize is when we pulled the trigger to own this beauty...we get to send in that monthly bike payment (probably)...when it is Nov-Feb and you mail those payment and stand in the garage looking at the cover shrouding your bike. So we get to experience DELAYED gratification every season....I'd rather ride all year round!

Thanks for the shout out Fred…safe riding right back at you!

Vinner, me too! I like to ride year 'round. I can understand some of the Northern folk have to hibernate for the winter, but we mid-south and below folk have an opportunity to ride at least 300 days a year, but many choose not too. It's hard for me to understand why should I buy something that cost so much and keep it on the shelf 6 months out of the year. When it was raining and 40 degrees the other night someone saw me wearing my leathers and asked if I was riding in this weather? Of course! was my reply. But then they went on to say that I needed my head examined and was I concerned with the bike rusting out. Then he went on to ask "Is it that good?" Of course!

Chris...Dude...you are a "TRIP" man. What a hoot...you are the real deal...hard core Vision Rider...I love the passion you have.

Our "hard-core-ness" (like the pun) up North here isn't like your's...our's is more like just needing a brain scan for sending in money to look at something in the garage four months a year. That's why my participation on this website ends like jumping off the cliff...when the weather is nice enough to ride...I am!

My minds eye see's Websters defintion of..."Hardcore"...and there's your picture dude! Wearing your leathers, sitting on your bike...IN THE RAIN!
