By now I am sure some of you have the Muth Mirrors. I have two questions, one, are the turn signals really visible in the daylight and two, do they take away some of the useful area of the mirror. I had installed the led lights around the mirror trim and they work great at night, but during the day they are not very noticeable, but do not take any of the mirror space.

I had the oportunity to ride with SongFan last month and he has the Muth Mirror signals. During daylight hours they could be seen, but they are not bright as say the turn signals. I would not expect them to be that bright during the day. It could be the angle of the mirror that may reduce the brightness during the day. I installed the LED's around the mirror as you have, I put in six 5mm lights on each side. Maybe SongFan could comment on those for daylight effect. I think both are cool and had my riding buddies comment they liked them. I think KenandPen also commented that they liked the LEDs. Anything to let people see you more.

I'm really happy with the Muth mirrors, mainly for the "blind spot" coverage and the stock look.  You really don't notice any loss in field of view.  It does take away the option of sticking a wide-angle blind spot mirror in the corner though.  The VisionTex LEDs are way brighter than the Muth's and they are the only thing I watched for when following him around all week.  I spent a lot of time tucked in close for photo ops and would not have seen the tail light blinkers on several occasions.  I highly recommend either mod.

I did not know the Muth's had a blind spot area, can you please elaborate.

A lot of guys like to put the little stick-on convex "blind spot" mirrors in the corner of their main mirror.  The Muth LEDs are in that corner and if you tried to put a "blind spot" mirror there you would cover up the top LEDs.  The Muth mirrors themselves don't have a blind spot.  Sorry for the confusion.

When I said "blind spot" coverage I was talking about someone in your blind spot could see your Muth mirror blinkers but would be too far forward to have noticed your tail light blinkers.

I've had them installed for several weeks now and they work great. The sun reduces the visibility of the LEDs when it shines directly on them; however overall I am quite satisfied for what they do and the price they cost.

I really like the blue glass in the daylight.

No, the LEDs are not that bright in the day, but they let your passenger know you are indeed using your directionals as the law requires.

It took awhile to train my brain there wasn't something smudged on the mirror that needed cleaned off (in the daylight) where the LEDs are.

I am happy with the purchase, and very happy I let Muth do the glass installation. My wire tapping leaves something to be desired.
