I took the Vision to my dealer over the weekend to get some LED's installed so the chrome would shine at night and talked to him about the radio and the headlight.

He hadn't heard of either the radio update or the cracking headlight, but he did have one in replacing the headlight where the bulbs got too hot and bubbled it.

Smitty, you might introduce him to this site! Ideally, he would be so impressed with the caliber of discussion and the amount of would-be owners lurking around that he would consider advertising with us!

OK, OK, I got ahead of myself. But I can dream can't I? At least mention the site to him.

Thanks for the space to dream.

Smitty, in all fairness to your dealer the radio isn't an update and the headlite just got finished. The radio is an entirely new radio. I'd be guessing but would assume the 2010 early run Visions probably don't have the newest radio in them. Mine was one of the very first radio's shipped. As for the headlite, I received a call from Victory telling me they had the new headlite and had contacted my dealer to order it and have it installed asap. In fact I talkd with the dealer today who stated it had been ordered and was expected in a couple days. Since we have snow here currently they would be making arrangements to get the bike and have the light installed as soon as the part arrived. I guess Victory wants them to get this addressed without delay.
I would therefore just assume your dealer hasn't had a need to find out these parts are available. One of those need to know scenario's.

For the record KNOWING whether you have a bad headlite would boil down to knowing what to look for. When my first went bad I hadn't even noticed, or rather paid it any attention. I knew I had some water getting ito the lite but thought it had slipped in past the back while washing. Once I knew what the separation and cracks looked like it became very obvious. I laugh now when I look at ANY Vision as I always notice the stock crack in the upper left corner. Glad Victory took care of this before another new model year got to the floor. It is like I told Victory, I wasn't interested in having another bad headlite installed and was willing to wait on a permanent fix. Hopefully this will be just that.

Teach can you tell me more about the crack in the headlight. I noticed moisture in mine on cool days or always right after washing the bike.

They put a new radio in my bike last week. My radio issues seem to be gone. I am glad I am still in the first year of ownership. My 2008 bike has the new 2010 RDS radio. Seems good so far...

The funny thing about the dealerships is that they they've never heard of any of the problems you describe to them... Just like I went through yesterday after I know I have personally told them about these issues before.

I share the same problem, when I first got my Vision it would pop and carry on, and even stall. After several months of complaining and having it checked out and remapped I was told they never heard of anyone else having the problem. Then about a month after that Victory came out with the remap to correct the problem I was told they never heard of. However, after remap I still had the problem and I don't know if I actually had that problem they put the fix out for.

I found my exhaust gasket were leaking at the header due to the malformed surface and having cleaning and replacing the gaskets the pop went away and the stalling.

I just had my headlight replaced (under warranty) due to several cracks coming off the top edge. three seperate area's.
The good news is they replaced it, the bad was they wouldnt cover the labor, so it cost me about 180 bucks. Better the 180 than the 45 for the light.
I dont know how to post pictures here but if you click my link here at the bottom then go into my personal page gallery i have some pictures of the cracked light. I think there is one on page 1 and 1 on page 2
