Do you Vision guys prefer after market pipes or Stage 1 Clamp-on's?

I went for the "thrush mod", because I'm cheap. I just wanted a little more bark, but wasn't looking to spend hundreds for it.

I"m still very happy with the performance of the otherwise stock engine.

Give or take a few there are about a dozen exhaust options available to for the Vision. If you do some site searches you can find all of the info on all of the available options. There are pictures, video/sound clips, dyno sheets and since exhaust is kinda such a personal decision there are also tons of opinions/preferences.

I really like the nascar6 muffles......haven't changed a think in regards to performance YET! These mufflers alone gave me an increase in throttle response.......and they sound better than any others I have heard in person.

I have the s1l2 pipes. For awhile I though about changing them but the longer I have them the deeper they get. I really like the sound now.

I pulled the trigger today on a 2011 Vision 8 Ball...screamin' deal. Having the power windshield, Stage 1, GPS & heated grips done. I'll probably be going with the D&D pipes.

Hi Redd,

I am pretty happy with my Atom Bombs. I switched from the Honkers, I was getting stopped by too many cops on the freeway due to the noise (OK, and speed...). The final straw for me was the time I got on the freeway by the SF airport, and within 1/2 a mile had spooled the bike up to 125, backed down to 75 and got busted. The highway patrol officer told me he heard me 2 miles back, and if I hadn't slowed down he would not have caught up to me. He only pursued me because he could hear me on the throttle, going through the gears.

The Atom Bombs sound pretty god, but like virtually all pipes on our 4 valve bikes, can be quiet unless you hammer it, then they bark. I kept the factory diffuser/catalyst in the head pipe, as John told me they only cost .7 hp, and gain you some torque.

I ran honkers on my 08 until I put cams in, then they were too loud. After a half hour on the highway I couldn't wait to get off the bike. The cams made them louder than they were originally (more air in means more air out). I ended up going to S1L1 and they are perfect for me. Running these on my 2011 now.

Hey Mike...haven't seen you since a couple of V2V's ago...how's things? I went ahead with the D&D's...ordered them in black...and I'm having the headers sent out to have them done in ceramic black too. I like their tone and not over bearing. Having a clutch arm peanut and heal/toe shifter arm also powder coated black. The only things that won't be black are the Bennett Cables.
The Fat Jacks on my King Vegas are way too loud...love em' and I've never been pulled over for them...probably just lucky.

I took the exhaust defusion plate on the back off along with the the 4'' tail pipe, then drilled 3 5/8'' holes in each end of mufflers. Made me happy and if i don't like late i can put back

I pulled the black inserts out of the end caps on my S1's and wow did it make a difference. Very deep sound for the most part and when you get on it a very pleasant bark. Even the other model bike guys like it. Wasn't hard to do and done in know time.

I'm thinking about doing the Thrush mod during the winter. Lot of information here on this site if you do a search. My main question was would I need to remap if I did it. The answer is no, from what I gathered in the past posts about it.

I love the thrush exhaust on mine. Nice rumble @ idle, but if you get on it, it'll sing. And @ willtill, since I live right around the corner from you, let me know if you want to check the Thrush pipes out in person.

Will, tomorrow is not good. We have our Thanksgiving dinner for my wife's side of the family the Sunday before Thanksgiving. We'll be having 35 people here. I have 2 turkeys to fix on the grill, and one turkey breast to do on the smoker. Do you work on Friday? If not then, maybe next weekend.

I put the thrush mod on and I love it. Had a friend who welds fab up some mounts for me, and bolted them on. The best part of that whole day was when his wife came out to ogle my bike just as I was switching sides and I just let it drop onto the tip overs. Priceless reaction!!

We'll hook up eventually. And.... Happy Thanksgiving!
