Well, not mine anyways, but I did take a short ride on a '11 that had been cammed, and it was a sweet ride. Loved the sound with the Big Honkers and it was tuned good with one of those tuner thingies.  I was pleased in comparison that my bike still runs strong but the cammed bike had that pleasing umph that made it get down the road noticeably quicker.  I think the difference to me was anywhere between 500-800 rpm shift range, that is I would carry my '08 Vision to 5,000 rpm to shift from 2 to 3rd gear when the cammned bike was around 4,200 - 4,500 covering the same distance.  The Honkers made it sound sweet, very sweet and were never annoying to ride behind like other pipes are.  I'm glad to have the opportunity, I think camming is worth the money and hope to do mine before 200,000 miles.

I'm going to do mine when winter gets here. LLoyd was out of cams last winter but he thinks he will have them back in stock shortly. I'll do it myself as all the dealers in my area seem to think they need to pull the motor.

Are you saying you do-not have to pull motor?

Absolutely not.......I watched mine being done.

After you pull the seat and the aluminum trim directly under it you will see a large plate holding the front half and rear half of the frames together with the engine. Unbolt that.....stick a bar in there and pivot the front half of the bike up and you have all the room you need. Took about 3 hours, give or take.

That's what I'm saying, I spoke with Lloyd, he says he'll send me instructions. I've built many car engines and after talking to him, I don't see a problem doing it myself. I won't be nearly as fast as he is but that's not what I'm after.

I would give it a shot... it doesn't seem hard at all, just time consuming.

If your going to do the cams on a 08 or 09 pay attention to the throttle body adapter - it deteriorates and leaks air. The Idle Air Control valve hoses also get brittle and crack.....they come as a complete assembly. Those two areas are common place on the older Vision for leaks. Mine were both in bad need. The Vic Shop is where I had my work done and its a common enough problem he keeps plenty of both on hand.

Chris, glad you enjoyed the "test ride".  Maybe LLoyd should start advertising like Victory...ride it and you will buy it.  Also, don't let Chris fool you - his barely broken in bike (113,000 miles) was hanging right in there with hard starts off the line.

Looking forward to riding with you again soon.

This looking better the more i find out.I have rebuilt Harley motors and Honda of all kinds but only when I need to. I have almost 14k on my vision 2011 is the too early, should I wait until get more mile letting the motor? With the cam up grade will the mapping and A/F all be retuned? This will be the 1st time into a EFI MOTOR.

Its pretty common that when you do the cams you order the LLoyds fuel controller to....I think its like $250ish.

Although I believe its not a requirement.

As Aaron said, you can add the cams alone. They extend the power band to 6000+ RPM. To properly feed the extra ponies takes more air and fuel. The well proven performance package consists of the cams, top intake filter (more air), and a fuel controller (more fuel). With these three things, You'll be at about 110HP and 110 TQ (at the wheel), and you will discover that you're hitting the 5500 RPM rev-limiter all the time, because the motor spins up there so quickly and it's still pulling HARD when it gets there. The cure for that is Lloydz rev-extend ECU, which also has a better timing curve than stock and eliminates the 120MPH speed limiter. Yes, the Vision (with cams, intake, fuel controller, and Lloydz ECU) will exceed 120 MPH, by at least 10 on any day and 20 if you have a little tailwind. You will be able to walk away from GL1800 Goldwings during roll-on contests (gears 2,3,4,5), leaving them to view your taillights as long as you want to. They won't catch you until you decide to slow down.

Peak numbers do not tell the whole story. The torque of the Vision 106 motor with cams, intake, FC, and ECU stays over 100 from about 2500-2600 RPM to about 5700-5800 RPM. HP peaks around 6000 RPM. Compare that to a Harley build. They can match the peak HP/TQ numbers, but typically the power band is much narrower. The power band is more "peaky". Also for comparison, the GL1800 Goldwing, which has long been famous, amongst touring bikers, for a wide power band, produces torque over 100 from about 2500-2600 RPM to about 5100-5200 RPM. HP peaks at about 5500 RPM. The Lloydz improved Vision has a power band 500-600 RPM wider than the GW. That's with stock exhaust on both, by the way.

14,000 miles is plenty. Go for it.

Ronnie

Not only will you be down on power, but you will be signifigantly lean in most situations with a Vision. With an X bike, and a S1 map you can almost get away with it, but Visions breath to well. The IAV does nothing with running mixture.

My 2011 Vision is cammed but doesn't have the raised rev limit. What does it take to do that?

I'm a fatass and will take all the power I can get.

You have to send your bike's ECU to Lloydz for reprogramming. It generally takes 2 or 3 weeks turnaround, so you may want to wait until the riding season is over. He used to offer an exchange program for the ECU's, but don't think he does anymore because you didn't get your original VIN back. If you can get your hands on another ECU, you won't have any downtime.

You won't see much increase in the peak power numbers, but you will get a wider power band--the power lasts longer in each gear. Makes more of a difference than you might think. http://www.vision-riders.com/bb/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=8212&pos...

Don't forget that this can also be done with the PowerCommander V as well. A quick call to dynojet about their rev-extend will do the same thing. There was no cost to get the code from them, I just had to sign a liability release form that stated what was done to the bike as well as the RPM Limit that I wanted it set to. Seeing that Lloyd uses 6400, I asked for the same. Works great and I already had the PC V installed.

I didn't know Dynojet could extend it to 6400, mines at 6k. I'll have to give them a call. Thanks

The Victory model comes preset at 6000 RPM, anything above that requires the liability release and a new code that will set the PC V to the new limit. You just need to provide them with the SN of your PC V and they generate a new code that you plug into the software. Pretty simple and works great. Got the code back the same day I sent the release back to them.
