Just read my Quarterly (Spring) Victory Rider magazing usually a happy time when it comes in the mail and I get to sit down and see what's up...NOT ONE PICTURE ANYWHERE in the mag of a Vision. Ok the Judge is the feature I get that...but the rest of the line is on display in various parts of the mag...WTF!

I'm just ecstatic to hear that someone still gets the rag, ain't seen one in two and a half years and figured they'd stopped printing it.

As stated on this site before, they have put all their advertising dollars to work on the cross bikes. I do not understand why but it is a fact.

Really hit home on page one of the mag - "A Bagger for Every Butt" - has pics of all the Victory baggers...

...But no Vision. Not there, not anywhere in the mag.
Granted the Vision is in the 'Touring' catagory, but 'Cross' bikes where there, front and center.

I hate to say it but I really think Victory is putting the Vision on the back burner with the cross bikes coming on stronger. I think the vision's styling is what holding it back. Either you love it or hate it. Did demo days last weekend and rode all the cross bikes and I gotta say i would like to have one of those. The wind protection is great and with the mechanical improvements it makes a nice all around package but at the end of the day I was happy to cruse down the northway to go home on my 09 vision. Just my thoughts. Eric

I hate to see Victory treating the Vision like a stepchild. My dealer says the Vision outsells the XC. And having ridden them both I can see why.

The Vision styling is what it is, and it makes the Vision, the Vision. The Vision has accomplished what it set out to do, and that is to change the way we think about motorcycles. Without the Vision I don't believe we would have the Cross Bikes. But anyone making an honest assessment will say that the Vision's ride is superior. It is the people that wants what they preceive that the Vision doesn't offer. And with that, all is well, because whether it is a Hard Ball, Cross, Vision, Hammer or Vegas, Victory needs to sell bikes to stay in business. It is a little disheartening to see the Vision slip from the flagship status, but that's okay too, I like the rare breeds anyway.

It's funny because I was thinking the same thing yesterday when I read the magazine.  I understand the Vision has taken a backseat to the cross bikes, but to not even mention it is a little disheartening.  I'm currently on my second Vision and if I can only have 1 bike, I can't see it being anything else other than a Vision.  I just hope the stepchild status doesn't mean Victory is looking to phase out the Vision.

My dealer said they will No longer carry visions. You can order one if you like... they will just no longer have them on the shower room floor.. Visions sit for months, where the cross bikes move like they are giving them away. (At least in my area)

The bottom-line is that we live in a world where the majority of the folks would rather have the handed down image of yesteryear, than to be progressive in styling. If I was to ask the designers of the Vision, I believe the bike was engineered first for it's handling and wind management, and then it was put into styling. The early drawings of the Vision leaned toward retro, but I don't think it achieved the wind-tunnel effect like the actual production does. While folks will dispute it, the design of the Vision handles wind better than anyother large bike, even with the trunk on. The problem they have is they make the bike ride them instead of them riding the bike. While some folks are also more in tune with riding overall, give two people with the same high skill level on their respective ride, a Vision against any other bike in the same class (if that is true) and the Vision rider will ride longer, faster, harder in any condition than the other. But at the end of the day, folks want to "fit in". I fault Victory none in this situation, they are feeling the market well and feeding it well. Again, I want to be of the rare breed, with better taste.

I love the fact that in the victory website they are showing a vision running a car tire! And even lists the size and model of tire!

So I read throughthe latest eddition also and have a question. The last sentence on page 19 says "Victory is growing and our communication channels are expanding to keep you better informed so while we say goodbye to the printed version we welcome a new era of Victory Rider at your fingertips." Does anyone know if this is the last eddition of Victory Rider we will ever receive in the mail or am I reading too deeply into this?

yep can not agree more victory is making a mistake they need to push the vision along side of the other models. heck every day I get asked about the bike and told how great it looks. people are always taking pics of the bike. I had a guy taking video of the bike on the highway. while driving ahhhh. realy lets me down that they stopped production of the vision 8 ball. sits lower and handles like a dream.

I couldn't agree more, every time I go on a group ride and half the time when I'm simply out by myself people stop and ask and comment on how beautiful the bike is.

Look at that photo on page 6 again and you can count 10 visions in the photo. 1. vision with light on 2. behind #1's helmet see the mirrors 3 to #1's right, 4 to the right of the truck 5. to the right of the CC in foregground 6. at windshield of CC in forground 7. right of photo halway up a black one 8. a white one in front of the black #6 9. to the left of the vision with light on 10. also to the left of the vision withthe light on.

Dealers sell bikes and riders of Visions RIDE!

We recently had a 3 day group ride from So Cal to Nor Cal that included 15 riders all on a Victory.

We had a couple of Kingpins a couple of X bikes a 92 and the majority of the rest were Visions. This is covering an area of riders from South of LA to the Bay area.
All of the riders do enjoy their individual rides but those that are now on a Vision have a common thread that they would be hard pressed to change to another bike even an X bike...

So I think if the Vision were dropped from production I might just by a new one to keep for later when they will become "Priceless"

I also had a choice, but for me the Vision was the one...I rode both on a Demo Days ride and fell in love with the Vision....The XR/XC bikes are great, but for me they looked just like another version of HD and I wanted something different...Too each his own, but I will ride my Vision and enjoy it a lot.......Not that I care at my age, but a whole lot more lookers when on the Vision....What is that????

Yeh...all in the background pic from last years AVR.

Flip the cover...page one...Victory Bagger Choices is the heading...five bikes shown...no VISION...really?

I work 2 miles from where the HD's are put together...grew up laughing at them when AMF owned them we called them anchors looking for a boat...how the hell did HD brainwash so many sheep that blending into the heard is "where it's at"...WOW
