I'm a proud owner of a 2008 Victory Vision.  However, if my bike was stolen and my insurance paid a great settlement, I am not sure whether I would purchase a new Vision or a Cross Country Tour.

Both a great bikes and it would be fun to test drive both.  What choice would you make?

Vision all the way. I'd have for a second bike a HardBall. Enjoy your CCT, nice bike, fits into the pack very well....

I'm on the fence here but the wife votes Vision. Since we're a democratic household, Vision it is!

you can alway add a trunk rack to get the extra storage of the CCT.. btw on a personal note. i was in florida last week at volusia motorsports and i got to talk to the owner. he said he took home for the weekend a CC (no trunk) & him and his daughter rode it. his claim was his daughter said the vision was more comfortable and had Better wind protection and she said she wants him to bring back the vision.. =) when i traded in my 08 vision i had a chance to buy a CC or wait for the CCT but after reading a ton of posts on multi sites from people who went from a vision to a CC/CCT they all said the samething.. the wind protection is NOT the same... and then i noticed. the cc/cct has a fork mounted fairing where as the vision is frame mounted and people commented on that in high/side winds... plus you gotta love the electric windshield of the vision!

Outside of storage, I see no reason to pick the CCT over the Vision. To me, it boils down
to how important that is. That is important though.

Of course I know the Vision doesn't come in premium trim now. There are things one must
add like a power windshield for instance. I am not sure what else is left off compared to my
2008 premium tour? I know some things have been added, like ABS, 5000 oil interval, etc.

All I see Victory doing with the Cross bikes is using the "core" of the Vision to make a motorcycle, albeit, a fantastic one in comparison to all the other bikes. There will only be one Vision... enough said, nothing else to figure out, until they gross out the Vision with detachable side bags. JMHO of course...

The CCT bags are nice but I like locking steering.

Initially, before I bought my Vision I wanted to get the CC... but the dealership locally said they couldn't get one! So, I started looking at the Visions... and at first I thought they were ugly..etc.. But I kept looking at them.. And you know what? The look slowly started to appeal to me! To the point that I was curious enough to take one for a test ride. Well I tell ya the Vision is the best handling bike I ever had the pleasure to ride it was AWESOME!!... So, that sealed the deal for me!...After a while, the dealer was able to get some CCs...... and I took one for a test ride just to see... which was better.. the Vision or the CC...well we all know the story!!!! ... The Vision wins hands down !!!

The on-the-fly electrically adjustable windscreen is still standard equipment on the 2012 Vision.

The HID headlight was standard equipment on the 2011, but has been removed from the 2012.

Since the HID is optional I wonder if a fine company like Clearwater would make an LED replacement for that location. That would be cool. Lets face it...that HID bulb is pricey. Wouldn't make since to replace it with a LED. Make it adjustable as well like the Clearwaters'.

Yes, that would be a really cool thing BUT I doubt they would be interested in developing such a thing (R&D just costs too much). That's just my opinion.

When you have the best it makes no sense to change unless to have sufficient reason to think something else is better. If you have that reason then the choice is made.

I already own a Vision. I'd purchase a Cross Country Tour for shorter overnight trips, keep the Vision of the multiple day multi thousand mile trips

Looking at the lights they make..I am thinking that it is small enough to fit in the HID housing without a mod.

What about three Clearwaters....one on each fork and one in the HID slot. All three controlled by the same controller. Hit the Horn and all three come on with full brightness. It would look like a Freight Train!

I really like the Cross bikes, but I'd have to go with a Vision as well.

Took my VV into Arizona Victory on Saturday for new brakes and was talking to the service/ parts manager about the CCT. He claims that the CCT pushes too much air and gets up to five mpg less mileage than the Vision and that the Vision is a better ride.

Is there still a space for the HID on the '12s? If there is, I don't see why one couldn't be plugged in the same location. After all, fabrication is the creativity of all mothers. (Or something like that.)
