It's never about the miles, only the memories...

Somebody mentioned to me this morning about when I put my bike up for the winter. I said I don't, and they wanted to know how I could ride all the time. My reply was, that even my ride to and from work was an adventure, and their's was just another drive. They agreed.

Goin' out to Po...

Great job Chris.  Hopefully we can get together and ride again soon.  By the way, I saw you heading in to work Tuesday morning (18 Sep) and was thinking about you on the way home that afternoon in the torrential downpour we had...

Looking forward to it, just got so much going on lately, but we have still have so riding days left.  The past two week have been fun.  Last Thursday a co-worker hit a deer on I-95 south, I was about a mile behind him.  It totalled his Maxima, caving in the windshield and destroying the roof.  The rain wasn't too bad, by the time I left it was a steady drizzle, I gave in and wore my frogg toggs.  I was totally dry when I got home except for my face and beard.

Apparently you never shut The Bentley off even for pictures, congratulations and I am about to hit 60,000 smiles on mine! Look forward to riding with you again when you pass through Georgia.

Thanks to all the rest. This is just my report to you to let you know this is quite a machine. I be riding regardless. It's amazing that 5 years has past since the first Vision hit the street. While there has not been any negative press on the Vision, it takes me back that it is not more popular than what it is. I took the long way home yesterday to ensure that I hit the 125,000 mark and I remember on one leg of my trip that it was the same route that I took a demo ride on a Vision, 5 years to the month. Wow! I couldn't wait to get mine, and at that time, I expected to be riding May of 2008, having a deposit on one. Things worked out to get mine on November 17, 2008 (same as CoolHandLuke) and I've not stopped riding since. Now, to level set, I was riding an 84 Gold Wing for two years, and I rode everyday, mostly. The Vision, made it always, except for ice, or other circumstances beyond my control.

Not to drone on, but my report is to inspire others that you can ride, if you want to, and the Vision, or Victory is as dependable as a car. These were two myths that I believed before I went back to riding; you can't ride in the rain, much, and motorcycles are just not dependable transportation. To both I say, "bully". Ride hard, ride long, ride safe.
