I am thinking about moving from the Vision to the cross country tour. Anyone made this move? I only see the electric windshield as the big difference.

I was at the dealer today and saw a bunch of Cross's - they are just Victory's 'competitor' to the fugly HD 'tourers'. You wanna have the HD look - go ahead on it - ME? I love not looking like everyone else - and looking like I belong in the 21st century - not the 1950's ...

Crosses are good bikes for a handlebar mounted fairing, but will never compete with a frame mounted fairing for comfort and control. HD, Honda and BMW agree.

I took a cc tour @ a demo tour a couple weeks ago and it was ok . The size of the bags is the only thing I would give it over the vision. I just felt like it wasn't as balanced as the vision, I can move my vision ALL around and doesn't feel as top heavy. I sit on the vision and I can look out at the road and still see the instruments. I feel like I own the road. Just two things over the cc that I like on the vision Both are great bikes, get what makes you smile.

The ride on the Cross is terrible compared to my Vision. You sit ON a Cross bike. You sit IN a Vision. Ride one for a while. Then tell me you want to change. Me, I'll never go back.
Just my 2 cents~!

I know I like the top load bags where you jam sh stuff in there and push down to close. The Vision takes some care to do the same.

Yes you do sit in a Vision. With my 08 I don't have the anti lock brakes. But the new Visions and CC do.

I have saddle bag envy, but not enough to go from a Vision to a Cross Country as my primary machine.

They are both good bikes and have pros and cons but for me the vision is the best all around bike ever.

The saddlebags alone are worth switching for......volume, far easier to load/unload, and easily removable to check rear tire pressure without laying down on the ground or dropping the VV on the tipovers! Far easier to remove the trunk as well, if that's a factor for you. Had to offer a counterpoint to some of the previous posts. And, yes, I did own a Vision before.

I'd love to have another Vic to go along with my Vision, but it would have to either be a Judge or Hammer 8-Ball.

My wife hates the look of the Vision. She fell in love with the CC. Back in June she gave me the green light to trade my 08 vv on a cc. I did my home work. The last step was a side by side cc vs vv . Ended up with a new Vision. Same color as the 08 it was 2 days before she noticed

I too looked at the Crosscountry Tour when I was ready to trade. Although.it eas an impressive ride its not a Vision. For comfort, handling, ride, and wind protection you can't beat the Vision. In the end I traded my 08 for a 13. NO REGRETS.

Bikes are like women, The one you like the pros are true pluses and the cons , not so much. Get the one you like, not the one they want you to like. If you want the most candid opinion and unbiased evaluation ride it yourself. Like they say "Ride it. You'll onw it."

This will always be a big debate but here is what I have to say "Real World"

I have a Vision 85k My wife has a X/C 20k I like mine and she likes hers. I like mine because of how it performs in all conditions. My wife likes her XC because of it's looks and lighter weight at slow slow slow speeds- parking lots etc. We both like the XC cause it can carry a bunch of stuff in the saddle bags.

One day we were headed home and she wanted to trade rides for a bit so we did. Her comments over the headsets were like "this thing is so comfortable" "there is no buffeting" "My legs are hot" "there's no wind"...

In the end she realizes the Vision is a better bike even with the hot legs, Did I just say she has "Hot Legs" but is still happy with her XC

I have test road the XCT, they are nice bikes, lots of bag room, and that's where it ends.

You will never beat a fix faring bike for protection, couple that with the powered windshield and well, it speaks for itself.

I also believe that, overall the Vision is the better handling of the two. I know my Vision can be a handful two up in slow parking lot maneuvers when fully loaded, but once out of the parking lot I can thread the twisities like a needle, typically better than most,, didn't feel quite the same on a XCT. You do get more road feedback on the XC though. I prefer the smooth ride of the Vision.

At the end of the day, its to each their own. I know guys who own a XC over a Vision simply because they feel they are not "old enough" yet. Well I am 34 and toss that Vision around like its a crotch rocket.

Have to agree with most here--Rode an XCT at a demo ride. Love the looks and the bags but can't get past the fact that the VV handles so well. I found the XCT to be a little top heavy-though nowhere near my TC. Plus when you get caught in the rain--the VV is by far the best.

Can't really find enough positives to make me move to the XCT from the Vision...As said above, when I ride I see very few Visions which I like as it is very different from most rides....The Cross bikes are great machines for those that want huge bags, but otherwise I see no reason for me to switch...I have ridden several other Vic's on demo day rides and none compare to the overall handling and comfort of the Vision....JMHO

Had a 2008 Vision Tour Premium Classic
She drowned in herricane Irene.
Could have bought any bike out there as a replacement.
Rode a CCT loaded.
Hated the fixed windscreen.
Did not like GPS mounted on handle bars.
Did not like only having a cube to control tunes.
Bought a 2011 Vision Tour .
No regrets
