Subject: Introducing The New Victory _________!

Fountain Inn, SC United States
Assuming Victory keeps with their goal of releasing a new "model" every six months, January's IMS in New York should host their next debut. Anyone care to speculate on what it will be?

Some factors things to consider...
  • Victory tends to introduce a new model platform in the summer at the dealer meetings (ie. Victory Boardwalk). But not always... the last 12 months saw the introduction of the Judge, Boardwalk, and the Cross Country Tour.

  • Interim releases are generally new package options (ie, "Tour", "8-ball", or "Ness" versions)

  • The 2014 Model year will be the 15th Anniversary of Victory. The 2009 model year brought a 10th Anniversary Touring Cruiser which was just a slightly accessorized, tri-colored version of the current TC.

  • The Spirit Lake facility will be adding a new, additional assembly line to bring the Indian line within the plant.

  • Current plant operations run 3 shifts: 2 assembly, 1 maintenance.

  • While the fastest color is STILL black, Victory has shown it's penchant for 2-tone designs. Any guess as to the color scheme?

What are your best guesses?

My first (and only real) guess is that I won't be on that new assembly line. Just think how good you'd feel knowing you were building Americas best motorcycle line. Hmmmm...wonder what they pay?

Be nice if an uprated engine were available in a " Liberty Line" maybe a 114 incher with higher performance cams and K&N airfilters, similar to SE from HD. AND maybe 15th year badging and such. 15 years is a pretty big deal in the startup motorcycle world........Look how many never made it to 15 years............

I need to find out. While I was planning on moving farther south, I'd move farther north just to work at Victory.

Don, Don, Don. White is the color of light, and the speed of light is VERY fast. So one might think that white is the fastest color. But wait, black holes suck up everything, including light, and therefore black holes must be more powerful than light and therefore faster than the speed of light. Hence, black is indeed the fastest color. Or is could be red. Yea, that's it. Red. Crimson red.

Of course one can also argue that black is the absence of light, and therefore the absence of all color. Therefore black is not a color at all, and hence cannot be the fastest color. Am I losing everyone on this rambling conversation?

I believe that's about right, somewhere around $18. Somebody posted a picture of their bike in front of the factory on another forum a 2 or 3 weeks ago and it showed a "hiring now" sign with, I think, $17.81 starting pay.

You would be moving mostly west.

I've been to the factory and it is in a small rural town where the cost of living is low and the people are very friendly. Farming country.

Very well thought out, actually.

But - the FACTS are - No Victory of ANY color has EVER beat me. Ergo - RED is the fastest color. No magic here - just fact.

That and we did a poll, or something years back and RED came out on top by quite a margin ....

My guess would be a "FatBoy" type of bike based on the Judge... bling alloy wheels, beach bars, removable pillion pad, floorboards, you know... using as many existing parts as possible. Think of it as the rebirth of the V92C model, but with the big motor, and years of valuable experience behind it. How does a 650 lb bike with a reliable 120/130 motor bike sound...?

I'm good with that. I wonder what kind of skills they need. (I can't really do anything well but surely they need someone with a passion for Victory!) Maybe they need a VP for Consumer Relations? Maybe they need a Director of Security?!? I've been in corrections for over 10 years so that might work. I might call them after Thanksgiving. Seriously.

Definitely west but I think a good ways north, too. Isn't Spirit Lake basically in Minnesota? I'll see what the town's like in about 10 months as I plan on attending AVR next year. Maybe I'll submit my job application then.

Not everyone wants to circumvent the globe via the North Pole. You're more hard core than I'll ever be. Give me smooth (and paved, please) roads, warm weather and some sun and I'm good.

Now that Indian is with Polaris/Victory we will be seeing a "new" bike back and forth between the 2 every six months. In January you will see a Boardwalk Tour with 2 tone paint. 6 months later the new Indians will be out. It works nice that way since they display them next to each other.
This year you will see the desperation of "sport/performance" bikes available at Victory and the big old school cruisers from Indian. Not a bad thing but I wonder what Indian will take the place of the Vision?
Over time you will see larger performance engines (ie 120" with Llloyd's turbo) coming from Victory while Indian maintains large consistent displacement (ie 2000cc high torque).
Victory will have the "hot" color choices like Indianapolis Red and Indian will have the Roll Royce colors.

On a side note, I bought an inverter generator at New England Cycle Works, Groton, CT yesterday (no more power outages) and the owner said he liked Victory and is looking into the franchise. That's 10 minutes away on the back road. They have treated me well over the years with my John Deere, Troybilt and Ace 750 purchases. If it happens I will post the "grand opening" party date.... Plus I bought my bus ticket to the Javits Center while there.

There is no Indian that will ever take the place of a Vision, nor is there a Vision that will ever take the place of the Indian. The Indian will be in competition with nostalga and the Harley big bike life. While there may be line blurring among the riders, the manufacturer division, I believe will stay true. V-Rods have been out forever and they have yet to break the line and they have the Harley sticker on them. As far as what comes out and when, I keep my ears open and wait for them to tell me, I have no speculation, but I sure will miss the Vision.

Yep, nearly into Minnesota. Nearly in Nebraska too. From what I saw of the area, it's all small farming towns in the region. Spirit Lake is a town of about 5000 population. The wind can get up some speed coming across Nebraska sometimes. Lots of cornfields and pastures. Not many trees. Most of the trees there have been planted around farmhouses for windbreaks.
