Many thanks to Jedi and Miles, they've treated me good inspite of myself and ways.  You've run a classy joint and hope it continues well for you.  I'm pulling out though, and yes, saying I am publicly.  Why? VR has run its course for me and here lately it just seems to be an advertising plug.  I respect vendors and I know where their sites are, so to see one advertising thread after another and very little discussion amoung the rider really turns me off, like I do the TV.  I'll be over at the "club" site if anyone happens to want to reach me.  You can pm me here, that is active and I'll get an email, so I will respond to that. After 6,000 posts I'm calling it quits.   Later.

Wishing you many, many more miles and smiles on the road of life. You and your 08 Vision will always be an inspiration and an aspiration to what can be accomplished with the products of "The New American Motorcycle Company" products. Thanx.

Hate to see you go. I have learned a lot from your posts about the Vision's capabilities and what to expect as I roll on the miles. I hope you have a change of heart and come back some day. At least let us know when you hit 200k miles. I would love to hear what it took to get there from a maintenance perspective.

May you have numerous great rides in your future.

You will be missed here. I find this site quicker to navigate, and been a member here longer but it's a pain to try and stay on top of both sites. Plus, I see so many people post on one site, then run and post again on the other one. Maybe I'm still suffering from Parked Motorcycle Syndrome, but that pisses me off for some reason. See you around!

There are some that aren't on other sites so you'll get varying opinions from more people. Also, sometimes nobody knows an answer on one site. I posted a question about my bike (some oily soot on my clutch cam) on one site. I got a few hundred views but no responses so I posted the same on another site. I don't see where it's a problem.

Fully agree, I'm tired of people posting personal conversations back and forth, use the fricken PM button. How many more times do we need to see a video of someones ride they took over the weekend. When I take a weekend or a week long ride, I don't go and look for videos to were I'm heading, the fun in riding is going to the unknown. The vendors need to post in the Vendors section of the VMC, if we want somthing we know were to look. As for the VMC site, it is not much better, the quality of postings in both sites has deteriorated over the last several months. IMO.

Hey Jeff & Miles,

Please comment on this thread. We don't need veteran members leaving this forum. Alot of us rookies count on their experience to solve the problems we encounter!

I don't know what you charge for advertising on the top right corner this website but this would be a good place for our excellent vendors to advertise their holiday sales rather than in the general forums.

How about some new posting guidlines.

Chris - it's tough to see you go and hope you find your way back here at some point in the future. I feel partly responsible for the amount of vendor "ads" in the regular forums, I haven't been on top of moderating the forums lately. At best it's a balancing act of nurturing participation by encouraging vendors to post their latest and greatest products but also keeping things low key. I'm always mindful that the more "rules" you impose, the less welcoming and freewheeling the site becomes. Like I said, its a balancing act, and the more we all can self-police, the better.

We do charge for the ads in the banner and I'd hope that those vendors that use our forums to freely peddle their wares would also consider supporting the site by also buying ad space at the top. Our ad rates. From its inception, this site was intended to be free & open, supported with vendor & google advertising and the generosity of its members.

Chris (varyder) as well as others here, have been here since the early days and I hope will reconsider their role in the Vision-Riders.com community. Your sage advice and even temperament have served as a great example and resource to newer members. I understand answering some of the same questions or debating the same issues over & over can be tiring. Add in the uptick in vendor ads obscuring the main content of the forums, and I can understand the frustration.

I will make a diligent effort to move obvious vendor marketing to the Vendor classified section. As always, I welcome ideas on how to make this site (and it's related sites) more participatory and useful. If you have ideas, please post them (start a new thread rather than this one).

Thanks for your enthusiasm, dedication, and participation in the site, it's really what sets it apart from others.

Jeff
