Hi Bill,

Thanks for the Post!

This (loose nut) did happen to mine while in Sturgis this summer.  It was a little un-nerving as it happened in a left hand sweeper and all of a sudden everything was gone.  It didn't cause me any problems, however, I can see how it could have.  I called my dealer and he told me how to deal with the problem.  I got it tightened and no further issues.

Regards,

Great, the last recall notice I had to inform my dealer about. I might as well print this out and let them know about this, too....

Flatsix,
Are or were you running the OEM pipes? The recall does note that a re-flash is to be done. The system defaulted back to the Factory OEM map. If you had the S1L1 or S1L2 pipes, you may be running with a stock mapping on the ECM.

Exactly my thoughts Dave...as I did put the S1L1 pipes on it prior to picking it up.

It does seem a little abrupt when transitioning between power on and power off.  I was thinking I would have to eliminate the 02 sensor and add a Power Commander to make it run as I would like it to.

We'll see!

Thanks for the heads up. Does anyone know where this possibly loose nut is? I'd love to know so that I might check it in the future before I head out. "Circuit breaker" on a Vehicle? Sounds like the fuse block to me. Could also be the engine on/off or keyed on/off. Down at the ignition perhaps? I guess its a good assumption that I don't have this problem since my bike still runs. LOL If I had a dealership within 300mi, I'd just let them handle it.

Under a black plastic cover at the base/front of motor there is a red rubber boot with 2 nuts on top. That is what my dealer had me check after mine stalled. They were tight on mine. My only stall came the same day as my S1/L2 install. Has not happened since.

Just talked to my dealer today. The reflash is not yet available for this recall. Victory is in the process of getting it through the EPA which leads me to believe there is changes from the the stock program. Dealer said they are trying to cure the intermittent stalling problem some bikes have by altering the new reflash

Interesting about the remap.

I experienced the loss of electrical on the bike, (and took it in to get it fixed). After that I swore that it never had quite as much pep as it had previously. I talked to the dealer twice about the issue, but never really got a satisfactory answer.

I had the S1L1 installed before the delivery, and I know they did the remap then.

I'll bet the bike reverted to the default remap. Definitely going to mention this to the dealer when the recall work is done.

I need the help of those of you who are "in the know". How can I be SURE that the re-map was actually done after my S1L1 pipes were installed? (Other than just taking the word of my dealer).

This is the 'cover in question'.  It is fastened (as I recall) with 2 bolts that are reached from the front of the bike in the battery area.  Once those are removed the cover should snap out and give you access to the 'red circuit breaker'.  There is an additional cover over the breaker that should just snap off to expose the 'Culpret Nuts'.  Mine were not even finger tight.

Flatsix, Great information for anyone who may want to address this issue on there own.

Now all we need is a picture with the cover off and highlighting the actual nuts.

To verify which map has been flashed to the ECM, you have to connect the bike to the Digital Wrench software.  From that point, the tech can navigate to a screen that shows exactly what is loaded.

Lift the red rubber boot up and the nuts are under that. One of mine was a little loose.

When you lift up the cover, there are actually 2 red boots. Are you talking about the one closest to you with 2 raised areas on it that go over the stems, that the nuts are threaded onto?

Thanks, I'll have the tech I trust check this out.

The two raised area red boot, check everything as long as you got the plastic cover off.

I hate to ask this so late, but can someone direct me to where this recall notice originated?  I found all of the other recall notices on the Polaris Dealers site but not this one. I have researched the web and also the national recall website  where all of the other recalls are listed, but again not this one.

I was on my way to Sturgis from Northern Ontario last month, when my Vision just quit, then about 30-45 sec. later everything would come back on and I could fire it . This started to happen more often on I90 so it became very dangerous jumping on and off the berm. Had it towed 169 miles to Rapic City SD. where Rice Victory found a loose nut on the main breaker. My two HARLEY BUDDIES had a good time with all this but finally admitted that if their bike had a problem, it also would have to have been towed the same distance. Anyway the problem was repaired and I only had to ride bitch on my buddies dresser about 100 mi to Sundance Wy. and back. One thing I might add, The VRA's road side assistance insurance program claims they only cover up to $200.00 for a tow. Mine ended up costing $516.00. My dealer is checking into this, but I would think that with a recal now in effect for the problem I encountered, I would have a full reinbursment. So far this is the only problem I have had besides belt squeel. Great bike!
