| Canada's largest victory dealer in canada located in Halifax, Nova Scotia has gone bankrupt. Next dealer for me is a 3 hr. drive. What type of motor oil and filter can one use instead of the victory product. I have a 2008 vision. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

New Bohemia, VA | to my understanding the later GL1800 oil filter fits your Vision, but don't tell anyone. By the way, so does the tires and batteries. Amsoil here as well, runs quieter, and shifts easier or so it seems. |

Same here, Conquest customs oil filter and Amsoil 20-50 M/C oil, 5k interval. |

Kincardine, Ontario, Canada | Somewhere I read that a Mazda car filter is the same fit up as a Victory. If you can verify that, I'd be picking up filters and MOBILE 1 20W50 Motorcycle oil at Canadian Tire. And as any good Cunnuk knows, CTC put oil on sale on a regular basis.
Sorry to hear you lost your dealer, hopefully someone else will open up a store, Halifax is a big City. I lost my dealer in London, Ont, which is a 2hr drive, now I have to go to Burlington, 2.5 hrs. Hopefully there won't be any repair trips this year |

| If you have a Polaris ATV dealer near you, the larger atv's use the same filter as the vision. |

CASHTON, WI United States | YES THE POLARIS TWIN ATV/RANGER IS THE SAME FILTER. YOUR ATV/RANGER CAN ALSO GET YOU THE VICTORY OIL. (ONE OF VERY FEW THINGS THAT THEY CAN GET YOU.) JUST ASK THEM AND THEY CAN PUT IT ON THEIR OIL ORDER. THE LINK IS A GREAT OPTION BECAUSE POLARIS IS OVER $40.00 NOW. HOPEFULLY THAT IS CURRENT.

| Are you talking about the copper washer? I bought a new one and then each oil change I swap them out. Easier than fishing in the old oil for one. I have used 2 for years. I clean all the mating surfaces and inspect each use. Never had a leak. So buying a change kit to get an extra washer may be worth it? |

Actually, the exact replacement filter is the one for the GL1500 Goldwing. The one for the GL1800 also fits, but it's more expensive than the one for the GL1500 for some reason. My GL1800 riding buddy uses the GL1500 filters on his GL1800............
WIX 51356 or NAPA GOLD 1356 available at nearly any good auto parts store. You can get more expensive filters, but not better IMHO. I paid $4.55 for mine. I use Amsoil and change it at 5000 miles. It costs more for the oil, but I run it twice as long as the Victory oil, so the price per quart of Amsoil is effectively halved.

Ruskin, Fl | My local parts store cross referenced the Polaris oil filter number and came up with an STP match. It's a real small filter. I didn't like the looks of it. I went with Bosch 3323 which I read about on another thread. Worked fine. I used Mobil 1 full synthetic since I can get it five minutes away. I'd prefer Amsoil, but I never seem to plan ahead and order it. |

LaPorte,Tx. | I've been using the Wix 51356 for four years on my Kingpin and now on the Vision. I've used Victory, Royal Purple, AMSOIL, and Castrol. 15w-40 to 20w-50.....all worked fine. |

Besides, if you get the oil plug washer, you'll have to get the water heater for it also. But the water heater got froze when it became a cold topic. |
