Underarmor! Hot Gear for summer and Cold Gear for winter. Gives you the compression that you need and wicks away the moisture.

Great 100th post there sbr!

I think the real issue is the seat. I find that with a vinyl seat I will get monkey butt in the summertime, it will just happen. The first thing to do is change to a good leather saddle as should be on any and all world class touring type motorcycles such as the Vision. You cannot expect to sit hundreds of miles on a piece of plastic and not have problems. Until I get mine leathered I'll just powder up and sometimes position myself to get some airflow. If it gets too bad I'll stop.

With leather I never get that feeling I do on the vinyl seat but still have to have some airflow, but I can stay in the saddle much longer on the hottest of days. Leather allows a measure of breathability and doesn't give that sticky feeling.

Changing your draws, well, I can't give you recommendation there except change then daily or when needed.

My secret to long distance riding is padded bicycle shorts under my jeans.  They have the anti-microbial treatment and the pad is vented along with dry wicking fabric.  It felt weird at first, walking around with a big pad between my thighs but once I got on the bike my whole world changed.  You can hand wash them every night while out on the road and they are dry in the morning.  The ones I got are called Descente Aero-X and cost about $100 but they have more than paid for themselves in one long trip.  I had a 15 hour day in the saddle last fall and didn't squirm except to stretch my legs.  Really unbelievable.

Dry wicking t-shirts have really come down in price and I just picked up 4 at Target for $9.99 each.

The answer for me was to purchase sheepskin covers for the stock seat. I bought the driver’s seat and the Utopia backrest piece from Sheepskin Factory in Denver, CO. www.sheepskinfactory.com

They have the sizes on file to make the driver and passenger covers and the Utopia backrest. The deluxe driver’s seat and Utopia backrest piece cost me $85.00 and they work awesome. They are quick to mount and take of, have clips for the seat cover and take up little room if you take them off. The heated seats still provide good warmth under these covers.

The seat really started to suck after about 10K. Not nearly as bad as the stock TC seat. But its gettin worse. As soon as the wife looks the other way Im gettin a Corbin. Till then I use this.

A jock strap ive found is the best for me on long and short rides, less material for air to flow through, cooler, keeps me from sittin on my boys once it gets hot, and your butt doesnt sweat. UnderArmour makes a wicking jock strap. plus you can wash it when you get to the hotel (hell, just wear it into the shower, soap up then let it dry) and you're good for the next day. I also agree that some good powder on the butt goes a long way in comfort as well. And for those of you who suffer from slight mental incapacitation, DONT ride in the summer with your heated seat on............. LOL and no thongs please.

I have to concur with the sheepskin answer. All the suggestions are god ones and very valid. But i have used a sheepskin for the last 10 years. I only pull it out for trips that i know are more than 8 hours in the saddle.

Spock,

Did you send in measurements or go with the "Large" seat cover they offer?

go to Wally World and buy compression shorts. I bought 2 pairs for $8, cheap and easy. Any T-shirt with cool-max , dri-fit, or what ever trademark they use, is good to use. You want to wear a snuf fit not a tight fit.. Why wear bicycle shorts? If you want padding on the seat go to a kayak store and get some kayak shorts. They have the padding in the seat not the crotch. Some even have a thin layer of gel for comfort.

spandex is not a right. on us it is a wrong......

and I will add, if you go commando make sure you don't have a hole in you jeans when riding west on a sunny day. i'm not telling how I know that but I hear sunburned "boys" can be very uncomfortable.

In Spock we trust. I ordered the sheepskin covers today...just couldn't break down and spend $800+ on a new seat that might be comforable. I also ordered the new foot pegs (not the Vic models) so I figured with the new riding position and the sheepskin the ride should be pretty BAAAAD (in a good way). Okay I coudn't resist.

If you go commando then you want a hole in the seat of the pants. That way the gnats and flies don't bother your face. It's what the folks in the old days did.
