I am seriously considering the vision as I really like how it rides. I am concerned as to how much crap I will have to take for its appearance. Say what you want about what others think, but for many of us, how others percieve our bike is important.
What is the ratio of wow good vs wow ugly comments you experience?
Please be honest as I am not trying to ruffle feathers.
PS. I really like the looks of some of the paint work in the gallery.

I have only had mine a couple of months and 2400 kms, and the majority of the feedback is extremely positive.

For me the bottom line is - yes it is a tank, yes it is a rolling couch, yes it is an acquired visual taste even, etc, etc,......but for me it is the most comfortable to ride and handle that I have ever been on. It is definately a conversation piece and some will like it and some will not, but that's like anything. If you are happy with it and enjoy it, isn't that what really matters?

Just my 2 cents

I bought mine because it was so different. It gets lots of attention. 99% is positive. The couple of people that didn't like it wouldn't say that it was ugly, just "wild" or "different". You get into a lot of conversations with strangers about the Vision. Best decision I made was not buying a HD Ultra.

I have gotten a lot of interest and many questions some admiration but no real negative comments. On top of that there is no better ride. I don't care who laughs as long as at the end of the day I am still riding and still loving what I do. This is the best bike I have ever ridden bar none so do what you will but if you like to ride and want comfort as well a definable style BUY A VISION. Archie

After 16 months of ownership, I would say the WOWs are way more than crap. This is a very good motorcycle. If you read the forums on this site, you will know what the issues maybe, and then if you do get one, you will be informed. But, if you can't take the fact that your motorcycle is really different, and someone may say something bad about it, then I'd look elsewhere.

The WOWS win. 2 guys we frequently ride with can't "get" the look. One rides an old Harley and will not open his mind to the design and the other rides a crotch rocket. Enough said.

Their loss, not ours.

First there has been more" wow" than anything else. But to be very honest.... if you love the ride, the looks, who cares what the other guy thinks. You can't talk to a close mind regardless. If nothing else your enthusiasm will drive them crazy. I have had a old school HD guy go nuts over it. You can never tell.

I was on the fence for the longest time about the Vision. I rode it and thought this thing is growing on me.. Like a fungus at first, but growing all the same, then just like in all the "Pod People" movies I became unknowingly smitten with it and now I F-Ing love it.. I went to my first bike night with it last week and I got a crowd swarming it and they were very positive with the comments.. (they really dugged the windshield)..

I really understand that you don't want to be outcasted for your choice, but when it is all said and done if they are truly people that you want to be around they'll accept it no matter what, if not you can probably out runned them with this thing!

the WOWs have it. I have never been able to get out of a paking lot/gas station/lowes etc. without a conversation about the bike. I'm almost 60. If you are 60 and 25 year old girls flirt with you at lights, it's the bike. Guys in pick up trucks in traffic roll down their windows to ask about the bike. I ride witha guy who owns a tricked out springer softail. Fringed bags and all. He also rides a bourget. We were out one night and all the girls were oooohing and aaahing over the vision. His wife looked at my gf and said "he'll be at the vctory dealer in the am. andthe only negative comments are from guys who don't get dressers at all. they wouldn't like a wing or an ultra. 2010s come out soon.

To be honest, I didn't really like the Vision's looks at first, but once I rode one, I was sold. Of course, now I love it! And almost a year of ownership, I have not had a single negative comment on the looks of the bike. What I have noticed though is that I get far more looks and comments than I ever did on my Harleys, and they are from both bikers and non bikers alike.

In any case, at this point, I could care less what others think.....this bike is just too much fun to care!

Fagetaboutit ! That's right, Anyone who has a derogatory remark about the Visions appearance
is stuck in the archaic mindset that many mainstream motorcyclists have. Take a look at how the
motorcycle has evolved over the last 30 years in regards to it's appearance. Slowwwww.....
Most of the criusers look much like they did years ago. If you see a cruiser on the road today,
from a moderate to relatively far distance away, you can't tell if it is a Honda, HD, Kawasaki,Suzuki or Yamaha. I can't even remember if I have heard any negative remarks about
my bike, I know there have been positive .

I ride much of the time with two friends who both have very nice HD Road Kings, including some pretty long rides through California. On the road there is a constant flow of positive gestures and smiles, and when stopped it seems people go out of their way to talk about the bike. Hardly anyone does the same with my friends, and as nice as these HDs are I think they have become common place.

The most negative thing I have heard about 5% of time is that it looks like the batmobile, probably due to the fact that it is slammed and blacked out. I must admit that the attention I get with this bike is pretty fun, on top of the kick in having superior performance, handling and comfort.

One simple question, do you want to be a shepard or a sheep? Good or bad, everyone notices, stares, ponders, examines a Vision and has a comment. Ive have people who have ridden for years, grinning from ear to ear, say they think the bike is ugly. The next time they see it, they say it really doesn't look that bad. The next time they see it, they say they kind of like it. How many bikes can generate that kind of response? I love it, or I hate it, or I hated it, but now it looks pretty cool.

Personally i could give a rats ass what others think its what I think that matters. If someone was to tell me they would not buy a bike they like because what others think, then maybe they need to just go get a sports car and drive it around fancy neighborhoods.
Im sorry if this makes me an outcast but i really cant believe this was even a question.

I seldom get any negative comments any more unless it comes from a hard core Kool Ade drinking if it isn't a Harley if isn't s--- closed minded individual.

I'm convinced you're an intelligent individual, why else would you be considering the Vision? And as an intelligent individual why would you give a rats a—what anybody says about your bike? Look around, a motorcycle is an extension of who we are.
Do you want the most technically advanced motorcycle on the market or do you want old school and boring.
I very often have HD owners stop and comment and before long start complaining about there bike, when I ask them why they bought the HD they simply reply because it's a Harley (here have some more Kool Ade)

If you're buying a bike to please other people you're buying it for all the wrong reasons, buy it because you know it's the best; buy it because it's what you want. As for the naysayers tell them to have a coke and a smile and shut the hell up.

BTW congrats on the future purchase of your Vision.

too busy riding to worry about what other people think. I like it when I get compliments and will pause for the moment, but I'm ready to hit the road. I laugh when I get the bird by harley riders as I know it has their attention. But at the end of the day, I'm ready to ride again, and I know of no other bike I can do that with. It is, after all, about the ride....

Ok, guess as usual im gonna be the asshole here.
DUDE, you're a grown friggen man. You are more worried about what STRANGERS?? say about your bike than you are the technology, build quality, power, performance, etc etc etc???? The problem isnt with them,,,,, the problem is most likely you
and your ability to overlook what other people think. I mean, im not trying to be a hard ass here, but i feel pretty certain im just the
guy on here who has the balls to say what all of the other guys on here want to say, but wont. If people didnt think outside the box, there would be no new innovation, new medical breakthroughs, improvements in all areas of our lives. We would be just a bunch of pack rat dogs who all stood around waiting to pounce on the poor animal trapped in the center. For god sake buddy, MAN UP. this is
YOUR life to live how you want, not your life to live for others comfort.
ok, all of that aside, ive never had one single person make a negative comment about my Vision unless is was 1. jealousy based
2. made by someone who couldnt afford one 3. made by a single individual who was surrounded by "his buddies" .

I stopped worrying about other people when i learned i wasnt paying for them, and they certainly weren't paying for me.
ok, the rest of you can call me an asshole now, but ive said it. Get the bike, forget the unimportant.
