| I was referred here from another forum. I'm curious about the life expectancy of this particular motor and tranny. (106/6-speed, not Vic's in general.) I'm not looking for guarantees, just want to get a feel for what's typical, and what issues have shown up. Any high-mileage Visions out there? Care to share your stories, the good the bad, and the ugly?

Rockford, IL | Since Visions have only been out a couple of years there isn't any super mileage units out there. However there are many members here who are in the 40k area and one member who I think is scratching 60k+. No engine problems on any of these....so far. If you are looking for the good/bad/ugly about Visions in general spend a few hours looking around the forums here and you will find tons of posts covering all areas of what you are looking for. Mostly good to great, some bad but very few ugly (if any)

Pittsburgh, PA | i seen a few people on here in the 40k-50-60k range with no motor or trany issues. I notice you name is rogue, that is a slang name for a kawasaki vn2000, dont know if you own one or not. but i heard from a friend on delphi that more than a few people on there had to get their tranys and engines rebuilt! High oil consumption, trany shifting problems etc. Ive had my vision for 2 years and it doesnt even use a drop of oil between changes! I love it! here is something else to think about.. alot of motorcycle company make many different sizes of engines. example of kaw would be 250,500,600,750,900,1400,1600,1700,2000 and i imagine i missed a few. Victory makes (2) 100 & 106. You get alot more time,research and attention from a company that makes 2 different engine sizes vs one that has a different engine for each market group out there. (my opinion) you also get companies that will invest the time and money into high performance parts since they dont need to make 20 different ones.. lol I also like the idea of my vision having roller rockers ! |

Jasper, MO | I know you asked about the Vision specifically, but they've only been out a couple of years. I've been a Victory owner for the past 10 years. While I can't claim what I would call particularly high mileage on either of my Victorys (my job keeps me from home and riding as much as I would like), I can tell you that there are many high mileage Victorys, including the earlier 92 inch 5 speed models. There are several with over 100,000 miles on them. The reliability of my 2000 model Victory encouraged me to buy my 2008 Vision. The 106/6 speed is an evolution of an engine that has been around as a 100/6 speed for several years now. I fully expect the motor and tranny to go 100,000 miles with no problems.
Check out the JD Power quality ratings for motorcycles for the past couple of years. Victory beat everybody, including Honda.
Back in 2008, when the bikes were first introduced, two couples from New Zealand came to our shores, bought two new Visions, and proceeded to tour the USA on them. After touring the USA and Canada, they had the bikes shipped to Europe and toured on them over there, then shipped back to the USA for more touring, then to New Zealand. New Bohemia, VA | I've got 62,500 on mine and I find so far this motor is bullet-proof. It is stock and nothing has been done to it except change oil and plugs. I did have extreme popping and stalling when I first got it, but it turned out to be a header exhaust leak I had from the factory. All is well now. I found it a solid motor and from here I don't have any concerns well past 100,000 miles, but time will tell, won't it.

Savage, MN | I've been riding Victory's since 2001 and have well over 100,000 combined miles on the 92ci up to the 106 on my Vision. All I have to do is; change oil, tires, turn the key and go! They are truly bullet proof! |

on the edge of Los Angeles | 36,000 and 1 set of plugs later I await a major issue so I can tear into it and re-do with cams pistons and head work. I have a feeling I will need to wait a while for that to happen. ( It may be a classic by then) By the time this happens I am sure I will have purchased another bike while the Vision is down for rebuild. That will need to be since I got the wife her own bike and she does not want to share -- her bike-- with me...
Not trying to wear it out but I ride it most of the time when I am not working... |

Okeefenokee Swamp | Got my Vision in December 2008 and just broke 41,000. The only problem I have had is keeping the tires on it and changing the oil at regular intervals. I am expecting nothing less than 120,000 to 150,000 before the need to do any major work.Maybe I am overly expectant/optimistic |

Funny you should say that. Shortly after going over the 100,000 mile mark my belt broke a lug (another thread about it) and I thought the tranny was going, I just laughed at that thought. |

Buford, GA United States | Just made it to 46,000 this weekend and I have had no problems to speak of. Heading to Myrtle Beach in 10 days and by the time "Miss Vicky" turns 4 on December 5th I will be at an average of 1,000 miles a month since I brought her home. |

Memphis | According to Kelly Blue Book, expected average mileage for a 2008 touring bike (750cc and above, all brands) is 16,120. The typical Vision owner is not close to being the typical motorcycle owner (on so many levels). I'm at 54,000+. |
