I have been riding Victory's since 2007, so seeing a Vision, although exciting, isn't something new. But since owning my Vision, I am shocked by how many people it attracts, most of the comments being positive. It seems I can't fill the tank up, stop for a bite to eat, or even stop at a light, without being approached and asked questions on some level. The Vision has attracted more folks in the month that I have owned than my KP has ever attracted, even after it was painted and chromed out, in the three years I have owned it. Its amazing.

Is this a pretty common occurrence for everyone? I thought with the Vision being around for a few years now that the excitement would have worn off.

Wait til you go to a restraurant with other riders.  You'll all be sitting inside and watch people come and go and the Vision will always get the most attention.  Your friends won't believe it's that different until gawkers pull out the cellphone and start taking pictures of it.

Until they own one, other riders think we are exaggerating about the different level of attention compared to any other bike.  Screamin Eagle owners are the poster children for state of denial.

i went on a 1900 mile round trip (pa to ks) and i had truckers giving me thumbs up, blowing their horn. i had people follow me into a rest stop only to ask me WHAT IS THAT.! even after 2 years of ownership every day i ride is like day 1... Some people think i had it custom made ! i even had a few people come right out and say.. (Wow what do you do for a living?!!) lol that one makes me laugh.. i noticed though little boys love it.. i had one right as i entered kansas i stopped at a gas station/rest stop and this little boy stopped dead in his tracks. his dad kept calling him and he went deaf..lol he just starred... the dad had to walk over and actually pick the boy up! it was just he just witnessed the most amazing thing his young eyes have seen... once again... made me laugh.. the father said to me.. "im sorry". i just said, IM USED TO IT..

First day I owned the Vision I stopped at a fast food restaurant. Watched as 3 different groups stopped and took pictures while we were inside. When we came out, we were stopped for about 20 minutes talking about the bike. The next day I went on a HONDA ride for kids and rode to the event with a group of Goldwings. While in riding formation I had a van pull up along side me for several blocks taking pics. When we stopped several of the Wingers came over laughing as they could not believe how much attention the bike got on the ride over.....that was all in the 1st 24 hours of owning the bike.

At about the same time you get used to the attention you may also end up getting slightly annoyed by it.

i agree with the annoyed part. after about a year of it i started to have enough.. then winter comes and i forget about it. then all the sudden spring time and it begins all over again...

They certainly do get the attention. I've had mine for 2 1/2 years, and it still draws attention. One of my favorite situations was when I rode to Roaring River State Park near Cassville Missouri with some friends who were riding Goldwings. My Vision was parked with the Goldwings when a group of Japanese tourists came into the parking lot. They all came over to our bikes and took turns taking pictures of each other standing by my bike. My 'Winger buddies tried to ignore it.

Seriously. you get ANNOYED by attention.?????????? S E R I O U S L Y I suspect that within each of us we want the attention or we would have purchased some other bike that looked like all the rest. Lets all bitch and whine about something else.
If people admiring your bike annoys you, you do have the ability to simply say "thank you" get on your bike and ride off. No one is forcing you to stand and do a sales pitch........ Personally id be annoyed if i bought a bike that looked like everyone elses and when i got out into the parking lot, I couldnt determine which bike was mine from the rest of them. A VV doesnt offer that issue

As I have stated here before......

There should be a sticker that states the following over the key switch when you go to ride off with your new Victory Vision.

Warning: If you do not like meeting total strangers, answering questions about Victory (or parent company, Polaris, stock symbol PII), answering questions on the Vision and it features, demonstrating the motorized windshield, describing or physically demonstrating the tip over points, pointing out the cruise control switches, heated seats and grips, opening the mp3/iPod player area, the gas cap door, and all luggage compartments, providing the price you paid for the Vision, the location of the nearest honest Victory dealer, the free demonstration rides that the dealers provide and the bikes top speed, do not buy the Vision.

Please know the engine displacement in cc and ci, gas mileage city and highway, max horse power and torque (in four configurations stock, staged, with cams, air box and controller and finally....nitrous).

Do not forget to mention that it is an American Motorcycle. Designed in Minnesota and built in Iowa.

Be prepared: People will check out your Victory Vision at stop lights. (Once a blond in a Land Rover smiled and gave me thumbs up.) Some will even roll down the window to ask a question (see list above) or make comments like, Cool, Wow! *Dat is da Real Playerz!

If purchased: You must also be kind to those who walk around your Vision when you are eating or shopping.

When you are asked silly things about the Vision such as "When did you steal George Jetson's bike" or "I saw this in the Batman movie", be thoughtful in your reply since, they might really want a Vision but have to many HD tattoos to turn back now, really do not want a Vision but that is OK and everyone should ride a motorcycle that they identify with, third be embarrassed that they paid more for their HD Ultra Electra Glide but do not want to admit it or finally; they go home, do some research and they might just buy a Vision for themselves.

*I had to look up the "Real Playerz comment" because I had no clue what it meant.

Ride Safe!

I didn't buy the bike for attention. I rarely ride with anyone else, or go on group rides, so I don't get much attention because the only time someone has a chance to say anything about the bike is when I am getting gas. But today is another story. I am in the land clearing business, I work along side truck drivers, loggers, equipment operators, etc. I got my bike parked at the jobsite today and this fat ass equipment operator walks over and I already know what he's thinking, he says "wtf is that, the Bat bike??, thats the ugliest bike I ever seen!" And I say "c'mon, why ya wanna say that?" Oh, thats your bike??? he asks. Then he goes on to tell me about the Knucklehead in his garage, and how he went on a four month ride with his "Bros" back in 73. I just had to laugh.

Makes me wonder how it must be for a good looking woman who gets stared at (leered at by Harley riders) ALL the time. I gotta admit that sometimes when I am riding, all the stares do get to be a bit too much especially when pulling into a parking lot full of Harleys. I like the comments even though usually they can vary from being good to weird. But the Vision is both good and weird, might even say that it is bold. Thats why I like its appearance. I like the story above about the spellbound boy. I appreciate my Vision for bringing back the sense of joy I had when I was a young boy riding my bike.

+1 on the kids being spellbound.

Pulling up next to a bus full of kids is always a party on wheels.  The kids nearest to me plaster their noses against the window and start pointing.  I crank up the radio to about 14 and start bobbing my head along with the music.  (Now they are really beaming down and rocking in their seats.)  When I cycle the windshield up and down a couple of times, all bedlam breaks loose and you can see the bus shake as kids stampede from the other side.  By then the light changes and as I roll past the bus driver they are killing me in their minds with a laser beam stare.

Good times.

One thing BAD about the attention and being on a vision is.. if your the type of person that speeds through town and causes trouble, your not getting away with $hit.. lol

The attention you get from the Vision is because of the guy on the left...and a few others. I agree with the kid attention, when they are looking out the car back window, you can only imagine what they are thinking.

If I get a snide (rarely) comment on the VV it is from a HD owner. People that have not been instructed by HD what a motor cycle is suppose to look like...kids, women (in general), cotton top/retired folks...or people in general that are a "blank sheet" ALL say what a cool looking bike.

I have had all the experiences everyone else has had...gas stations, stop lights, Interstate riding and people boxing you in because they just stare at it, restaurants...I rarely ride with anyone else so I don't get the group experience...but I have recently seen another VV rider while going down the Interstate and we simultaneously point at each other and grin ear to ear. (that?s now happened like 3 times in the 3 years I?ve owned the bike)

The latest new experience was when the wife and I were checking out one of our lovely state parks on a lovely lake (a Sunday ride) and as we looped through the parking lot to get a closer ride by of the beach area...everyone?s head turned away from the water and just stared. My wife said..."now that feels awkward" and we laughed.

But ultimately the only closed minded people I have come across are the HD gang!

+1 on the HD gang. From my experience about 1/2 of the HD owners think it's cool as hell. The other 1/2 just don't get it and usually offer up some stupid remark which I always enjoy. It's just too easy to put those types in their place. As for the general population I find about 90% can't stop looking at it.

My HD buddy loves the bike and would have gotten one, if he'd had gotten it first. He's one of those guys. On a recent group ride, he said my bike got more attention than a hooker in prison.

I don't think it will ever end... Just Yesterday, I was zinging south on I-5 hanging out in the HOV lane, and got look after look... The only thing I don't like is a situation like this.

Some dude in a Tundra (AKA Toyota's Version of the Dodge Ram) rolled up next to me looked over, and didn't put his eyes back front for a few miles... Literally... That stuff makes me nervous, luckilly the traffic was light and I was keeping taps on his path forward. I finally had enough and rolled on the throttle to put some distance between us. Oogle the bike when your stopped buddy.

TB - that picture is disturbing, beautiful, but disturbing none the less. Because, as VaP tries to point out how we are so much different, as popularity of the Vision gains, it'll start being the same. But until then, it is a rare site and I still have people hang out of the window, give thumbs up, stand and talk about the bike. Some think it is a custom, but many riders are coming to know about the "spaceship" looking bike and will ask how it rides. "Fantastic!" is my reply but that will only lead more to buy, and then make us one of the sheep eventually.

Like I used to do when I was still living at home, mom was an accomplished cake baker and made the best cake, but the running thing was to say it was "terrible" so no one else would want any and I could have it all to myself. So the Vision is the WORSE, AND UGLIEST BIKE ON THE PLANET, PEOPLE! There....

I'm with Kelvininin; that kind of attention while on the road can be a little disconcerting.

Sunday afternoon, I'm riding home in the carpool lane on the I-5 just north of Irvine. I'm following a couple of bike lengths behind my buddy on his 110CI CVO Ultra Classic. His CVO is bike that demands your attention with it's beautiful red and burnt orange flake paint job, and it has enough chrome to blind you when the southern California sun hits it.

A guy in a Camry pulls up next to me and paces me for about a half mile, finally I decided to see what the hell his problem is; so rather than keeping an eye on his left front wheel I take a look at the driver. This dude was grinning from ear to ear and giving me the thumbs up sign like he just found the holy grail or something.

I nod and then he quite happily speeds off, totally ignoring this beautiful $30+K HD less than 20ft in front of him. The only thing thats gets more attention than a VV on the road is a CHP Beemer (but they elicit a very different "eyes straight ahead / check the speedo" type reaction).

Sadly for my friend this kind of thing happens everywhere we go, in fact he no longer parks near me when we stop, my stock SSG Vision gets more attention than his treasured CVO.

as least 75% of the time when I stop for gas I have a conversation about "how I like it?" or "does it ride smooth?" or "sure is different!"

Not to worry... this was just the Anniversary editions lined up at Daytona for the special event they had. It'll never look like that again... ever.

My brother rides a 2009 CVO Ultra Classic and has the same issue when I am with him on my Vision.
