Check out this modification from Neil Forman in the UK - Then look into the Ness "Bashplate".

I don't know if you'll get a 2" drop without modifying the bags otherwise you'll be busting up stuff when you hit speed bumps, pot holes etc. I dropped mine 1" with the link mentioned in the article above. I like the improved handling and the way it sits. I haven't made any changes on the front other than having to adjust the headlight.
Check out this thread for more info.

If you have a pre-2010, you could look into just swapping out the seat. The new seats are 1"-2" lower, and you can now get heat with them too.

Just wondering about the angle that would change.

Smitty - if you look at the rake/trail specs for the standard Vision and the 8-ball, there is not indication of change whatsoever, unless that has been updated recently. I do not understand how you can lower the bike and not change the rake/trail, even slightly. The tech at the dealer says it is not significant enough to say otherwise.

I agree with varyder. In a fixed 3 point triangle you can not change the plain of 1 leg without affecting the plain of the other 2.

Actually the 8-ball front end does sit a little lower then a stock Vision. In trying to figure it out for my wife's Vision... I found that lower legs on the 8-ball were different. Now is it because they blacked out - I do not know.

But - the 8-balls front end is lower... just stick you fist between the headlight and the front fender...

On my wife's I used the adjustable link from the dealer in PA. Lowered the rear 1" and then raised the forks up into the triple tree 5/8"

It handles great

Arlen Ness in Dublin, CA lowered mine, added skid plate and away I went. Lost a small amount of storage space, gained a whole lot of handling and cool factor. Set-up leaves full suspension.

I have talked to folks at Victory and dealers about the lowering of the bike. The people I talked to do not recommend shortening the link...but we all know folks are doing it and it seems to work. So, what do they recommend? Get the 8-ball shock and link, and seat. This will give you the two inch lower seat height.

I used the stock link and cut 1" out of it, put a slug in it and welded it up, but if you remove 1" form the link you will have to buy the ness parts for the sadle bags, I didn't think it would be a problem, I was wrong, smashed the sh*%# out of the inside of my bags, 1" shorter link was over 2.375 lower at the back of the pipes. I think it was a fairly easy and inexpensive mod, the ness bag liner parts were around $165 but they were backorderd for a month or so. I didn't use the bash plate, but I don't have my forks lowered, hope this helps.

The ness bag inserts are about 2" taller than the factory cutouts for swingarm and pully clearance, so you lose some storage, but not much.

The cheapest and easiest is to use the fully adjustable link from Offroad Express in Erie, PA.  Great quality, any height you want and 150 bucks...

Do you have to adjust the front end also?
Does it effect the inner saddlebags by hitting?

Thx

The change to the Vision 8-ball suspension may not need a change in the front forks as it is lowered only ~1 inch, the seat gets another ~1 inch for the total. This is what I've been told. When I was next to a Vision 8-ball, I did not check the bags to see if they were different. Maybe on of the 8-ball owners here can let us know.

I bought the fully adjustable link from Offroad Express in Erie, PA and have my dealer installed.  Also have the seat foam cut off about 2 inch and replaced with memory foam.  is effecting the lean angle just a bit, but i have heard others heat up the kick stand and bend it to give the same angle.
