I just realized that my new '11 doesn't pop back through the exhaust like the '10 did. 1500 miles and it hasn't popped even once. They must have fixed something.

Thats why I haven't gone stage one yet. I have the fluted tips and want to keep them, but I don't want popping. May end up modding the stock exhaust after warranty and getting it tuned and cams.

i talked to the demo truck driver today at my dealers demo for the 2011 bikes. he said they had a fix for it and were trying it out on the new bikes. had a vision there with s1l1 pipes and flash and high flow air filter. i rode the dog out of it for 7 or 8 rounds and not a pop one

When I had KevinX install my cams, I asked him about the popping, I have the L2 pipes. He said that with the stock pipes it was probably still popping but the stock pipes would muffle the sound to where you can't hear it.

i wanted to ask aside from the popping. is there any difference in SOUND from the stock 2010 vs the 2011.. i saw a video where victory claims to of changed the exhaust note of the 2011? is this true?

My 2010 had afermarket pipes right from delivery so I can't tell if the '11 is louder. I can tell you that its very quiet. So quiet that I might just leave it that way

Marc:

I got me an 09 VVstreet in Mar. 2011. Been reading on the web's sits about the popping which I don't get. I also had some trouble running ruff after I pulled my camper from KY to NY.(the short answer) The solution to that was to disconnect the o2 sensors. (I probably have a bad o2 sensor) But in the course of finding  the solution I did a lot of reading & learning. My first fuel injection bike. What I find out is that I have a California certified bike with the evaporation canistor & a IDLE AIR SOLINOID. This solinoid has a little plastic grey screw on it which I suspect does the same thing as Loydz Idle air valvue adjuster screw does.  When you let off the gas to slow down, at about 1800 RPM it changes the air it allows in. You can feel the bike kinda jerk (very slight) just s little. Good spot to down shift when stopping. But I get no popping. Neither slowing down or shiftig ever, 17,000 miles. I bought the bike new in Columbia MO. Very supprised to find it was Cal. Certified. (no popping - won't touch the grey screw)

So there is hope??
I put the stock mufflers back on my 08 because I couldn't take the popping anymore.
I don't know if I would go back to stage1 or not, it's kinda like putting glass packs on a cadillac.

Exactly where is the solenoid you're referring to? I'd like to see if mine has it.

The assembly is just behind the triangle on the rite side.  Two hoses "T" and attach to it on the side away from the air box & one on the other side going to the air box on the air box side

Rick,
I think you're referring to the Idle Air Control valve. This is standard on all the bikes. It controls the amount of air that is allowed to bypass the throttle plates in order to maintain the correct idle speed. Lloydz valve which I installed, further regulates the amount of air which is supposed to limit popping. The surge you feel at 1800 rpm is not a function of the valve as much as from the fuel being turned back on by the ECM. I installed Lloydz's valve in order to reduce the surge for which it did in fact help. I'm curious about the plastic screw you found. I don't see that.

Thanks,
Marc

Louder the pipe....Louder the pop. Vic uses the IAC as an air injector, and unless they change that. The pop is going nowhere

I personally talked to Kevinx regarding popping... First thing he said was to unplug the O2 sensors. Just haven't got to them yet. Looks like a little plastic/aluminum needs to be disassembled to find out where they plug in.

Have a 2012, unmodified engine and exhaust. It has popped 3 or 4 times in the first 1000 miles.

My 2011 popped, just not real loud. Now with a fuel controler and S1L2 pipes, it pops LOUD. How I roll off the throttle keeps most of the pops away.

MY 08 and 11 didnt pop with stock mufflers. when i installed the s1l1 on the 08 it popped bad... i removed the s1l1 and installed them on the 2011 vision and it barely ever pops. on the 08 i had the lloyds device to stop/decrease popping, the 2011 i do Not have the lloyds unit installed on it.

Just thought I would add to the confusion. My 10 8Ball Vision drivetrain is all stock and factory down to the air filter. 11300 miles and it pops often. My pipes have loosened up some and I an here it.
