I see I'm not the only person who names the bikes they live with. I would like to hear how other people come up with the names. Mine are the first womans name I hear in a song after I aquire the motorcycle.

'07 Ultra, named Juanita from Little Feats "Fat man in the bathtub"
'10 vision 8 ball named Doris Day from Billy Joels "We didnt start the fire"

My 07 Blue Harley was Blue Mule because several of my friends ride sport bikes or cruisers. Anytime they bought something on a trip I hauled it home for them.
Liandra was the name of a starship on Babylon 5 Legend of the Rangers. I had a lot of comments of "it looks like a space ship" it looks like a SyFy motorcycle". So I picked a name that I liked that matched the comments. I am a big SyFy fan so I picked one only a real fan would recognize.

Liandra, I knew I have seen that name before. Loved Babylon 5. I watched the whole show and was a frequent visitor to the Lurker's Guide.

It was one of the few luxury's when I was poor and studying my butt off for my career changewas watching B5. I had just made a move from construction to computers during that time.

Isn't it about time for a rerun of the series.

I call my Vision "Sparks". I figure it is a good name for a radioman's Vision.

Let me tell you about Ahab the Arab
The sheik of the burning sand
He had emeralds and rubies just drippin' off 'a him
And a ring on every finger of his hand
He wore a big ol' turban wrapped around his head
And a scimitar by his side
And, every evenin', about midnight
He'd jump on his camel named Clyde, and ride - from Ray Stevens "Ahab The Arab"

So my old Virago's were all called CLYDE - and I would sing or hum the song whenever I "jumped on my Virago named Clyde" and I would RIDE !!!!

My Vision is simply "The SPCSHP" ...

Hilarious! Bozo's exactly what I thought of when I first saw the Vision in a mag, and a photo about like that one. I was only familiar with the cartoon Bozo, though. The flesh and bone one is kinda creepy, huh? (:-0

The 08 Vision is "Twister" and is named after a Super Modified car Hank Arnold drove back in the 60's in AZ. The chevy motor turned backwards allowing him to stand on it harder in the corners. This was thinking out of the box back in the day, just like the Victory Vision now. My 03 TCD is "Hotrod" because it is just flat scary fast when you really get after it. As I have stated before the TCD at 115 mph is a bit scary and the 08 Vision is just getting warmed up. If I get the LLoydz computer upgrade I will not have him take off the MPH limit, I just know I would have the need to find out how fast it would go.

Ride hard, ride fast, but above all - ride safe....

I grew up watching Bozos circus. I'm glad his balls are in bucket #6 now.

When I got my Suzuki Burgman 400 scooter I called her Sylvia because Sylvia was my first ride and I remembered her fondly.
When I got my Victory Vision I had plumb forgotten my second ride (guess she wasn't as memorable) and so she has the name "Vickie"

Believe it or not, I was on the Bozo show. Houston, Texas, June, 1972. I even played for the 'Treasure Box of Prizes'. Lost, just barely. He was something in person.
