I just got an e-mail from Bill "VisionTex" Lindstrom's daughter.  He passed away suddenly with a heart attack last Sunday.  He was 20 working days away from retirement.

He was the best riding partner imaginable.  One of the most helpful trouble shooters in the history of Vision-Riders.  We have lost a giant.  I'm crushed.

Bill was a true gentleman and I'm honored to have met him. I was so looking forward to meeting him on the road this summer at the AVR. He had a quiet manner that belied is great sense of humor. A wonderful man.

As soon as we get any word on arrangements or charitable donations, we will post them. There is an online guestbook for Bill if you feel inclined to post something:

This is very sad news indeed. My heart goes out to Bill's family.

I learned more about the capabilities of the Vision in the few hours of riding with Bill in the lead then I have before or since that ride. Below are some pictures of that ride almost two years ago.

Rest in peace. You will be remembered and missed my friend.

The first picture taken by Tom (SongFan) shows Bill (VisionTex) in the lead followed by Skip (Smadge) and me (Radioteacher) when we were leaving Blanco Texas for Luchenbach.

The second picture is Skip, Bill and I enjoying BBQ at Rileys in Blanco, Texas.

The last picture was taken before they hit the Willow City Loop and I headed to Fredericksburg, TX to go to work on my day off. From left to right, Bill, Skip, me (Paul) and Tom.

Thank you so much to all for your wonderful thoughts and messages about Vision Tex. He loved to ride and had a passion for his Vision. Bill and Marsha had many plans to travel on the motorcycle after his retirement. Our Dad started riding in 1981 on a used Honda 650 and quickly caught the fever. He would ride to work in the middle of winter if there was no snow on the ground. In the late 80's he traveled to a couple California Motorcycle Racing Schools and quickly advanced to the next level as a rider. As those of you know, who've riden with him, he had an unmatched ability for safety and precision. We always felt safe with him on the road. He traveled so many places on the back of the bike and wished to continue his travels for many years. We will miss all of the stories of his Vision and the wonderful people he has met on his journey.
We are having a memorial for Bill on Wednesday, February 16 from 5-8 pm at the Grand View Funeral Home in Pasadena, TX. www.grandviewfunerals.com Memorial Donations can be made on his behalf to Star of Hope Mission, PO Box 1505, Houston, TX 77251.
Bill will be transported back to his home town of Lacon, Illinois where a Visitation will be held on Friday, February 18 from 5-7pm and Funeral Service on Saturday, February 19 at 11am at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon, Illinois.
Thank you~
Marsha Lindstrom (wife) and Jeannine Becerra, Marta Herget and Brittney Palmer (daughters)

I had hope to have met VisionTex one-day on this side of life and missed an opportunity to do so a couple of years ago right after getting our Visions. Bill, no doubt, was someone to emulate as a biker, he is missed. Prayers and condolences to his family and friends.
