Cedar, Michigan | I had a 08 Goldwing and just found it to small. I sold it this past weekend and I want a Vision. I had ridden them in the past and loved the way I could stretch out. Is there any difference from the 08 to 09 to 10 to 11? The only ones I rode were 08 and all seemed great. Thanks for your advice in advance and I can't wait to get back on a V-twin!

| The major difference between the '08-'09 and the '10-'11 is the transmission......it was redesigned for the '10 madels and is quieter than the early ones. Nothing wrong with the early trans, they are absolutely bulletproof. I have an '08 and absolutely love it. |

| Updated the audio system in 09, but it still needs help. Took way the air shocks in the side bags in 10 or 11. The 09 and up motors have different cam carriers. |

| Actually trans was updated for the '11 model year. The '10 is the same as the earlier ones.

Troy, NY | In general it is best to stay away from the 1st year or remodel year of production. Again, as a general rule. I would narrow it down to 2009-2010 and 2012 when it comes out. I haven't heard anything regarding the 2011 w/ the new tranny. So that is a positive sign and 2011 could be considered. Now that is logic talking. You find a good deal on a Vision just buy and ride like there in no tomorrow. You won't be disappointed!!!

| All I can say is you can't go wrong with a vision. If you buy one make sure you get them to throw in the first 500 mile check up for free it will save $300 or more.
If you do your own work on the bike get them to throw in a service manual it will save you a $100 bucks. Get then to throw in 20% off all parts for the first year.
You don't list wear you live but keep your eye open for a dealer with the demo truck being there you could save more money.
Keep in mind we as consumers have more power these days with money being tight dealers have to work harder to get our money so be firm on what you'll pay.

Litchfield Park, AZ | 2009-They added the reverse....cannot be retrofitted to the '08
2010-they added ABS
2011-They changed the tranny.
I have an '08 and I find it to be damn near perfect, but wouldn't mind the reverse as the bike can be a pain to back up on an incline, on a gravel surface. The transmission to me is an overrated non-issue IMHO. |

Northeast Ohio | On top of what savage said, Victory upped the oil change intervals to 5000 miles on the 2011 vs the 2500 the older bikes. Newer bikes have ABS, updated radios and IMHO, they have fixed a lot of the earlier problems on these bikes. Not that we had major issues, but rather annoyances. |

Litchfield Park, AZ | To follow up on what ScoreBo mentioned on the oil change intervals. The change from 2500 to 5000 miles was based on the neutral issue and NOT in regards to the older transmissions breaking down oil faster while simply running them.......(This is My opinion) If I am riding the bike close to home a lot with a ton of shifting then I will stick "closer" to the 2500 mile interval. If I am running long distances on the open road I have absolutely zero concerns running that oil for a much longer interval. |

Jasper, MO | Everybody has pretty much covered it. Mine is an early build 2008 model. The only problem I've had with it was the CB wasn't completely compatible with the stereo and wouldn't work quite right. It was replaced under warranty with 2009 units and has been fine ever since. I miss having reverse. I have always changed my oil at 5000 miles, using synthetic oil, since making the change. When using the semi-synthetic oil, my bike would become notchy shifting and neutral could become elusive after 2000 - 2500 miles. The change to synthetic eliminated that, and the bike shifts and finds neutral just fine with 5000 or more miles on the oil change. My point is, you do not have to get a 2011 model to get the 5000 mile oil change interval.

Sounds like a great choice! I love my 2008.

mansfield, MA United States | I had a 08 and traded it in for the 2011. Just a couple + and - with the 2011. I am not happy with the new tranny. It is now quieter at all but I never had a problem with my 08 tranny. When you pull in the clutch it shuts off the indicator so you can't see what gear you are in. It also takes about 1/2 quart more oil. But I LOVE the ABS!!!! I was disappointed the 11's didn't come with shocks on the side bags and had planned on putting them on. But now that I have had it for s few mounts I like it better without them. I like the 11 better than the 08 but it's so close that I could go either way. You can't go wrong.

I have an 08 and 09 - no problems with either.
