Mesa, AZ United States | Just changed the oil in my 08 Vision. Paid $15 for a filter from the dealer. Haven't had time to check at the local auto parts but I am assuming there is a much cheaper oil filter available that will work. Anyone have any info on what brand and part number will work on a vision? |

Indianapolis, IN | <p>The victory vision uses the same oil filter as an 05 honda civic. If you look up honda civic filters it will provide you with a cross reference match for the vision. I use the wix 51356. It is available at OReily Auto Parts for about 8.00. Wix is one of the highest quality filters made. At the following web site you can buy them by the case of 12 for about 52.00. Add in shipping to Indiana and that's about $5.20 each. Not bad for a high end filter. www.discountfleetsupply.com/wix51356.html</p>

Pittsburgh, PA | there are sooooooooo many choices for oil filters for our visions. i stopped using oem due to the price, and they arent anything special. i cut one open just to see.. right now i am using a mobil1 oil filter. i got it onsale with mobil1 cycle oil from pepboys. |

I examined several filters before my first oil change, including my personal favorite Mobil1 brand.
Seeing is believing. I've used the OEM Victory filter exclusively ever since.

That's what I did and that is why I use the Wix filter. When disassembled you can not distinguish any difference between a wix and an oem vic filter. The materials are the same, and even the markings on the components are the same. Since victory doesn't manufacture any filter I would bet money that they are being manufactured by wix under contract with the vic logo printed on the outside. I'd rather pay 6 bucks than 15 for the same item.

| Wix does make the factory oil filter. And as far as I can tell they're the same filter. |

It does NOT burn or use oil, though I do have that stinkin' oil sensor leak that I have so far put off changing. I guess I can do it under warranty. You all quit worrying so much with the details and get out and ride until the wheels fall off...

Lol this I agree with this. I use Napa gold because Wix makes them and the the local Napa store owner is a friend.  |

Please change the oil pressure sensor if it is leaking. The oil can fly back on the rear brake when you are riding. Oil is never a good thing to have on the pads plus it makes a real mess out of the rear tire and engine.
The oil pressure sensor/switch it by far the easiest part to replace on the Freedom 106.

So true, so true. But there really no oil flying, it's one of those annoying seeps that collect the dust and I don't ever think about it between times. I might hit it up and get it fixed under warranty to my next trip to a dealer, provided I pre-arrange it.
I've found no evidence of it ever getting on my brakes, but I do agree with you RT. |

Houston, Tx | I actually purchased the lifetime K&P filter from Conquest and used it on my previous bike ('08 Jackpot). Before trading it in, I changed oil and threw on a cheap ass filter. Then.. at first oil change on the Vision tossed on the K&P - worked like a charm as all Vics use the same size. I paid the price early on and now never have to buy another. I also have the magnetic plug... so for every change all I need to do is make sure I have a good crush washer (can be bought from dealer) and the oil (also purchased at dealer in 5Qt container for less then $40 with local chapter discount). Works for me....

San Antonio, TX | Oil pressure switch: I had the dealer order one under warranty and one more to leave in the vision. All I need to replace it is an adjustable wrench and a rag to clean up the mess. When they came in I did the work myself.

Pittsburgh, PA | Im not sure if this was talked about yet or not. if it was then im sorry for the repost.. but i know alot of people use the napa gold oil filter (made by wix) well today i went to my napa dealer to get some amsoil and i had him look up my oil filter for my vic to see what they had in stock. then he goes to see if he had it in stock and comes back with 2 oil filters... i told him i only needed 1... he said i wanted to show you this NEW oil filter... he had the napa gold in his hand along side the New Napa Platinum oil filter. the part number for the napa gold was (51356) and the napa Platinum is (41356) i took both of them out of the box and you can honestly feel the Platinum one was heavier...
