I'm getting good use out of my motorcycle insurance. I think my rates might start to go up.
Why me? Why me? (let the boo hooing begin again). I think I'm getting intouch with my feminine side way toooooo much! I guess I'm just fortunate, its a nice sunshiney day, perfect 70 degree weather, light white clouds in the sky. Nice gentle breeze a blowing and the thoughts of twentyhottiesomethings runnin' through my mind. It just feels like spring with just a little rutting going on.

With the above description one would think a nice ride on a Victory Vision would just sortof tap off a wonderful spring day. Rode into work this morning, light chill in the air and had to bundle up a bit. Cranked up this morning and the little battery light with the exclamation on it lit up and stayed lit for a few seconds then went out. No problems on the drive to work. Feeling like a good day.

3:00 pm rolls around, grab my gear and out I go. Headed across the lot, thinking what a wonderful day, I'm off work, gonna ride home and just enjoy today. Drop the backpack off in the trunk, grap the MP3 player loaded with 80's music, plug it in and turn the key to the accessory position (I have never used this position before, hehe!) and let the music start to flow. Start putting helmet on, slide a glove on and I'll be dang if half way through me some Def Leppard - Pour Some sugar on Me and my music just STOPS! This is a travshamockery, I love that song! Check in glove box and sure enough player still on. But wait, there is no power to the dash. Now what, I just had that failproof, don't drive it, recall done. There is no power anywhere. Turn key to Run position (like that position though!) and no juice anywhere. Headlight no come on, radio no turn on, dash not on, zilch, nada nothing. Okay, so I say I'll give it a moment. The heck with that, I start banging on the battery, yanking me some wires, and just giving it a general kick in the tires. Still nothing, turn key on and oil dummy light lights for just a minisecond and then goes out.

I decide to try out the Progressive Roadside Assistance, included in my insurance premium. So, I give a call that takes at least 15 minutes to get through to the right area after going through all their prompts. Then another 15 minutes to talk about how I'm feeling, am I stressed or in the mood, etc. I tell her I don't currently have any of those symptoms, I'm not as old as some of the geezers I hang with. But I/we digress and inform her that my bike is inoperable.

I go back after my chit chatty conversation and see with the key off my dash is blinking like christmas lights. This ain't Christmas and I ain't old St. Nick.

So, down to the question at hand. After pouring my heart and soul out to you guys and girls, I get the evil threat of taking my keys. So, which one of the axis of evils has done me in, I tell you. Ante' up, or I start using my weapons at hand.

I HAVE A BUCKN8KD, AND I AIN'T AFRAID TO USE IT! If he is unable to figure out who it is, then I will call in SANDCAMELJIM with the Phoenix heat and just let him loose. If your able to withstand all that. I will be forced to give a call to chandlerTom or TIMs, with the young twentysomethinghotties and see if that breaks you, you , you scallywag.
I shall get to the bottom of this one way or another. Whoever, you are come forward and the worst I will do to you is put you on BUCkN8kd's Mini HD chopper, or force you to stand with your arm around someofthebikinicladhotties, OH THE PUNISHMENT!

Where's the Napalm in the morning!
AARRRGGHHHH.

I hope we are not in the same boat. After 24 hours of having possession on my new Vision, went to the local gas station for 1st fill up. After filling up and talking to everyone who walked by, NO START!!!

Apparantly, my "dealer" didn't check the recalls and we have a faulty ignition. My dealer sent 2 guys and a trailer to pick it up and I got it back the next morning. They did supply fast service on a Saturday and delivery on a Sunday but still no excuse for not checking the recall notices.

I'm going in for my 1st oil change and service next weekend and hope to get some answers or at least a sincere apology.

Crap...! I think I'm in this boat, too.

I got my Vivi back this past Thursday, after being at the stealer for over 3 weeks for this recall problem. Got her back, and my stereo dash panel doesn't work, no readout. Sound comes out of the speakers intermittently. New one on order. (Scared the heck out of me on the way home from work last night. About halfway home on my silent ride, suddenly the stereo starts working/ "Highway to Hell" blaring out of the speakers. I took it as a sign and didn't pass the slow driver I was stuck behind for several miles.... until it got the best of me, and I just had to....). Well, tonight, I stopped for gas and, while under the overhang, noticed my stereo panel, tho' not working, stayed backlit while I was fueling, again. Hubby was in his truck at the next gas pump. We went to go pull out, and I noticed the battery/exclamation light on and my amps at below 12 (brand new battery, replaced during the recall because the orgional was dead). We were going to go the Vets Clubhouse. I pulled up next to him and told him I was going to go on home, and the problem I was having. I payed attention to the battery gauge on the way home (I hadn't really done this since getting it back 4 days ago). While at full throttle, my amps were showing 15-16 amps, but at idle like at a stoplight, it would go down to 12. Yesterday, twice, she died when I went to take off from a stop. Hit the throttle, and everything went black. But, she restarted immediately. I guess she's going back to the dealer Tuesday...

(As I type this, there's a Vision TV commercial on Discovery... First time I've ever seen this.Kind of ironic...)

AHHHHA! You bunch of nay sayers! Oh, the battery cable, the ground, trickle charge it...I KNEW IT! although I have no idea whats wrong with any of the electrical problems we are having, and I'm just over 7k. Something is a foot! I have the trixie issues, however not so much lately. I lost my fuel guage for about 2k, but it's in good working order. I did roll some rocks and chicken bones, drink a beer and pour half of one out for "the homies" and haven't had the problem in a while. It looks as if Victory may have to figure out a new wiring harness solution, and recall what we currently have. Man, the cost for next years Victory Vision will sky rocket. I'm giving the "stink eye" to Pollo's battery issues, and smell napalm. It smells like....Victory. I'm tracking like a coon dog on a buttermilk buscuit..ehh? I just hope the dealers don't try sell me on the fix, the other old buzzards on here tried to give me. Battery cable my pimply behind. A brother knows a electrical problem, and knows what a voltage regulator does,,,,in essence, regulate the voltage so there is no fluxuations. THATS RIGHT, I SAID IT, TURN THE KEY, IT SHOULD GO TO 15+/- AND STAY THERE UNTIL YOU SHUT IT OFF! bunch of bums....POLLO, did you do the required, chicken bones and rocks roll? After this is done, try the key again. If it doesn't work...well, who cares? Mother Victory is really screwing us with these electrical issues... I'd love to do a mid-country Meet-n-Greet. That would be a hoot, if we all thought our voltage regulators could handle it!

I hate to say it but 13K later I havent had a single electrical glitch. I did both recalls and have not had a problem( yeah I know, now I am screwed!)
Mine was a very early production bike delivered sept 23 2007.

Contrar monfrar, could it be Pollolittle spreading despair everywhere? Note his seemingly heighten paranoia of how someone else is out to get him, when actually he has his team of gremlins scurrying around the country wrecking havoc on Visions everywhere. Interestingly enough he inquires of my location, knowing I have no issues with my fine Bentley. Could it be he's on the hunt for others as well? I think he's in cahoots with the HD folk to subvert Victory in having Victory with the Vision being the "ROAD KING" of the world. Ahhhh, chicken little, the sky is not falling except on you're devious plot! I suggest to all others to block all tranmissions from this Tennessee Tyrant who claims that the tornado never stops to keep from being infected by his mischievious deeds! You'll never get me...

Headed your way, no worries, your next, varyder.
As for early production, mine is the earliest I have seen on here 0699, last four of VIN. I have had the regulator and the ignition switch recall done. This morning I have power, but didn't drive it. Felt like taking my 9mm to it.
BTW, varyder, it is "Au Contraire Mon Frere", it works better if you put all the FRANCH in it.

I think "Pollolittle" is Spanish for Tennessee Lightning Rod.  8,700 and my bike runs perfect.  Vintage Nov '07.

May not be related but this is a major part of the electrical system.

When I took delivery of my bike it needed to be jump started. The thought was that it was an older inventory bike and the battery was just in need of a good charge. My ride home was well over an hour and when I went to restart, it was once again dead. Argh!

Placed on charger and within two hours it was working again. This problem persisted at very inopportune times and I have since taken the bike back for repairs.

The resulting failure so far is a faulty stator. Only one of the three legs was operational. I don't know if I am the first with this issue but I am concerned as it is also linked to the regulator and all other electrical components.

The day I picked up my bike it also had a dead battery. It was not an older inventory bike, built on 11/19/07 and out the dealer door on 12/05/08. Also, the battery ran down when I had the Stage 1 reflash as they had to keep the motor off and key on during that exercise. I have also ran the battery down on the bike just by it being on accessory for a short period. I feel the battery is undersized, or I've got a poor cell in my battery and it may not be taking a full charge. I'm going to have them check it in a couple of weeks.

I can't believe I'm seeing this about the Vision's too, but I've seen this before. Don't panic. Anything electrical that affects "EVERTYTHING" is usually, note USUALLY very simple.

1. Now there has been talk of a RECALL of the the Ignition switch, so start there... simple things first...

2. On more than one occasion with Victory it's where the GROUND (black) BATTERY CABLE ATTACHED TO THE CHASSIS!!!. This can wreak havoc. On the V92C, the powdercoat was so good that the only "connection" was really the threads, and if they used locktite, well... there wasn't much of a connection. It's a bear to get at that end of the cable, so it's overlooked, OFTEN. DO NOT just check to see if it's tight. REMOVE the bolt. Insure the washer and chasis is all metal to metal (as opposed to a metal-to-paint-to-metal), even file a little around the hole (the washer will cover it) to insure it's a metal to metal fit.

Hope this helps.

I had the ignition recall performed two weeks ago and the bike's was running great. Yesterday, I experienced the stalling while entering the turnpike. I tried doing a rolling clutch start and no luck. I pulled in the clutch, hit the ignition switch and it started right up.

I can only guess that the ignition recall did NOT solve the stalling issues.

PBR, I'm convinced that is a seperate issue, I've never, that I know of, experienced the ignition stall problem, though I have had a stall problem, I don't loose lights or anything. However, the stalling issue seems to have been fouled plugs on my ride and suggest that you check those. Since my tech cleaned the plugs at the 7,500 mark, I do not have the issues I once did and I'm getting the gas mileage I expect, 38mpg scootin', 42 - 44mpg cruisin'. Deem oxagin sinsors seem to be too sinitive and maybe causin' the canfusion that causes it to stall.

Thanks Varyder. I'm fortunate to have one of the "good" dealers and will be due for the 3,500 checkup in a week or two. I'll have him check the plugs during that visit. I'm also installing a Utopia backrest. While the seat is the most comfortable stock seat I've ever owned, after a couple of hours, I could use some additional back support. I'm only five and a half feet tall and am probably reaching a bit to get to the grips. Until someone comes up with a good solution to pull the bars back, I think the backrest should suffice on long rides.

I had the trunk on for the first 500 miles, then removed it for 2,000 miles. I recently put it back on and was wondering what it would feel like on the highway. After 15 minutes, I forgot it was there.

( mine did- I'm 5'8" try installing the back pad upside

great for me!

About halfway home on my silent ride, suddenly the stereo starts working/ "Highway to Hell" blaring out of the speakers.

I like your radio's filter. Nice choice when to work. My AC/DC is on Wal-Mart's cheapest
MP3 player they sold. The Vision is teaching me new technology.

Sorry to stray from the original posting. So far, so good on the electronics. All displays
function well. Radio clarity is crap, but MP3s sound much better?

The mid country visit sounds awesome. Hey, get this, the easy fix was....someone on this site, and I won't mention who, told me to adjust my riding style? ADJUST MY RIDING STYLE?!!!! Thats causing my stalling....BECAUSE OF MY RIDING STYLE?!! AHHHHH! If I ever see that person working in a repair shop, I'll kick him in the "twig and berries"! PolloLittle, your hexed, vexed, and overall surrounded with bad ju-ju. Dude, I'm telling you, chicken bones, dice, rocks, party horn, 12 pack of Bud (you need 13 beers, pour the 13th out for the "hommies", cowboy hat, assless chaps, and a Franch dictionary. Find one frenchmen, kick him in the "boys" have your wife in the french maid out fit, burn the Franch dictionary and moon a cop. That should solve your bike issues. You may have other issues to resolve, but the bike will run fine.

GAgirlTrixie - can the radio be disconnected and see if it runs right! I just wonder if you have any problems with supposedly the radio out of the picture. The pain is starting to be felt at my end. Did she just say "trick issues"! Buckn8kd, You are in more dire need of a b#@wj*b than any white man in history (end plaigairism.
Hopefully, my dealer is good at this kinda thing and can figure it out quickly enough.

The Buckeye...is twisted, naughty, and just a bit unstable. As you may know, this is my alter ego, since the people that live in my helmet won't let me act out in public, especially if the law is around...damn coppers. I have mastered "pour some sugar on me" on my guitar, so if my vision shuts down by a bar, I can pick up a guitar and finish what the mp3 started. I know HWY 2 hell, but I live on that stretch of road and preffer to stay away from it when able. Sometimes a brother/sister can only take so much. By the way, I might be part Aborigani and part N.African. Then again, I could be all German and love the bratwurst and doing the "chicken dance" when ever I have a few extra minutes. I tried the slap dance with my wife, but she "close fisted" and knocked me out. I think she's on to the "many" friends I have in my helmet, but we aint telling knowhow. She's sneaky fast, and waits till I'm drunk to hit me in the face with a loaded pork chop. What that has to do with price of beans in China, who the heck knows? It was in the library, by the figure skater, with the lead pipe.

I think mine just needs a case of Dr. Pepper, so of BuckN8kd's mojo, some Songfan twisty huntin', cjnoho's flight with soaring eagle, then a little blackcamelJim with some Desert sand thrown in and stir it all up. Maybe that'll fix it up. I'll give it a shot.

I still got to finish this story. Had I been carrying a 9mm I would have shot the tow truck driver. He almost put it back in the shop, by almost destroying the fairing. Sometimes I wonder!
