New Castle Delaware | I know some of you have traded 08 visions in on 2011 visions. I tried to make a deal on a 2011 silver and black demo this week and the dealer won't give me more than $6500 for my 08 in excellent condition with 26,950 mi on it. They told me that was all it was worth in the nada book. I Would like some feedback if anybody has any. |

| It's only worth what you are willing to sell it for. I bought a used 2010 8 ball for $13,500 with about 3 grand in extra's. I waited for months for the right deal to come along.
The 2011 I looked at was almost 17 out the door with no extra's, so used worked well for me. That being said, the dealer has to stand behind the bike he sells and make a profit to stay in business. If he low balls you, low ball him. Lets face it, the economy is in the dumpster right now and anyone, I mean anyone with cash or the credit to make a large purchase should be treated well. Our Vision's only represent 1% of the market for heavy duty bikes. Shop around and see what is availabe, try selling it on Craigslist or E-bay. Give someone a good deal and it will sell, use the cash towards the new one! Good Luck |

Arkansas | 6 months ago I traded a 2008 Tour premium Vision with 37,000 miles on it for a 2011 CC. I got 12,000 trade in and 600 off the new one plus $1000 rebate and 5 year warranty . Not a steal but fair to both sides, I thought. |

| Hey trade in almost always sucks, but it not easy to sell used Victory Visions on open market for some reason...If you can deal on the 2011 for $17/18000, go for it....Several on this board and on the VMC board have said they bought brand new Visions(2011) models for huge discounts....I have a Silver/Black 2011 with S1L1 pipes and a very few other goodies, purchased in May and I paid over $22500...If I had waited until now I could have purchased same bike for $3500 less...Which Sucks!!! BTW I got $9000 trade for an 08 Kinpin Tour loaded with pipes, chrome up the wasoo,lots of extras,and in meticuless condition...Which I paid over $19000 for a little over 3 years ago.....I am done getting bad deals and will not buy another bike in the spring if ever, although I have always enjoyed my rides...Just not a good negotiator I quess.....Good Luck

Mt. Vernon, WASH. | The dealer will offer you wholesale price and jack it up to the next buyer to, I'm guessing around $10-12K. NEVER trade in a vehicle!! Figure out through some basic online research to find out what the vehicle is worth low to high, pick a number somewhere in the middle, pass it by the local detailers shop and put it on AUTO TRADER, CRAIGSLIST, or in the local morning birdcage liner. Be ready to 'give' on your price a bit and 'grudgingly'If you've figured out what you'll taketack on $1500 and let the prospective buyer 'con you down' to what you wanted.
Then do your homework and find out what the same or equivelent bike would cost locally, cut a few bucks from that price and tell thealesman 'I'll give you XX for that bike right now' if he balks, get up and walk out, you owe the salesman zippola, and if the 'sales manager' tries to twist your arm to agree to a higher price, get up and walk out, you owe him less than zippola.
And the bill of sale to the new buyer should read 'sold where is, as is, with no implied or written warranties'
Oh, yeah. Buy a new vehicle either the week between Christmas and New Years Day or late in February particularly if it's been raining for several days when the saleman is pinched to make a sale. It's not cold or cruel, it's business!!

When I first started the haggling process, they low balled my vision. I told them I got a better trade in value on my 3 yr old kawasaki that was $10000 less than what I paid for the vision. I.said I expected victory to have a better resale yam kawasaki.... Then after a while I got a better trade in.... Basically I said I want to trade in my 2008 vision.. but I don't need too! It operates just fine. And they were trying to make room for the soon to be 2012 models... |

Flowery Branch Ga | Kind of comparing apples to oranges, but........ Last September I traded an HD 1200 Custom 105 Ann. Sportster with some stuff on it for my 8Ball Vision. They gave me $4500 for it. A year later they still have it listed for $7000. My 8Ball was listed for $15,500. I think I came out ahead because I'M HAPPY with the Vision. It all depends on what makes YOU happy what you are willing to pay for that happiness.

Columbia, SC | I think part of the problem MIGHT be that bikes are NOT selling well now. It's considered a "luxury" or "toy", and right now in this economy people are just not buying bikes like they were a few years ago. So I would think that a store is more reluctant to just "swap" inventory (bike for bike) than get rid of inventory (selling something they already have). And since bikes aren't selling well, of course they'd want to maximise profit even MORE on a used bike. Especially if they can buy low, list it for NADA pricing, and then "settle" for thousands less (which especially in this market would help the sale) and still make up some money for the new bikes they're NOT selling.

Dealers, to stay viable, need to turn over their trade-ins in days, not months or years. |

Rhode Island | That would mean like $14k out of pocket, at that price you could spend 1/2 and put alot of new parts on the 08 and still have money. Kind of hard to accept; hope you find a dealer that will do a little better. |

SF Bay Area | Dealers usually low ball you initially, that is the nature of how the game works. Remember, emotion can get in the way of getting a fair deal, either when buying, trading, or both. Used bikes are far more profitable than new bikes, because of the variable buying price due to the emotional state of the seller. "Blue book wholesale" is what most dealers use as a starting guide, and deduct for flaws, mileage, etc...and seldom give you much for accessories. I bought and sold used motorcycles for a dealership for 6 years, and can speak from experience.
What I encourage buyers to do is to make their best deal on the new bike, excluding the trade, then once a final price is agreed upon, then offer the trade at trade "retail", and work the trade, but do not go as low as "wholesale". I have seen used bikes fetch a 40% profit, while the best I have ever seen on a new bike was around 12%, excluding pack and holdbacks. Be reasonable... dealers need to make some profit to stay in business.
If possible, sell your trade yourself, at worst you should be able to get close to trade "retail". |

Harrah, OK | I just traded my 04 KP on a XCT. Everyone knows your not going to get top dollar on a trade. But then again, all you gotta do is ride the old bike to the dealer and ride the new one away. Selling a bike can be a royal PITA. Tire kickers, wanna be joy riders, and my all time favorite...the guy who loves it and will take it, just has to stop by the bank in the morning to pick up the cash and will be back first thing....of course you never see him again. If you have the time and the patience, selling outright is the fiscally smart thing to do. I have neither..... |

| In May of this year I traded my 08 Midnight Cherry vision base unit in for a 2010 Ocean Blue Vision with only 10 miles on it @ Jones Power Sports here in Columbia Mo. They gave me $12,000 trade in and $3,000 off the price of the new one. I had looked up what Kelleys Blue book thought it was worth and was very happy with my deal. BTW Jones then sold my old Vision for only $12,500. But then that is why I have bought three bikes from them so far and maybe thats why they sale so many

Akron, Ohio | I have an 08 Tour Premium with 17,500 miles. It is almost perfect. Extras are, driver backrest, S1L1 upgrade, highway pegs, newer tires, extra chrome, bad boy horn, ram mount balls on both master cyclinders, gattlin gun tips, lowers, mesh organizers in all cases. There may be a few more, but you get the idea. About a month ago I got a hair up my a$$ and went looking at the new Vision. I was offered $11,000 trade in. Needless to say, I still have my 08. |

| What a dealer offers you doesn't mean that's all it's worth. It just means that what it's worth to the dealer at that moment. A $6500 offer for your bike means that the dealer really didn't want a used VV at this time. KBB wholesale on a 2008 Vision Regular Street is $9670. Hell a salvage Vision would fetch $6500.
