I haven't had my 500 done yet but I recall that my dealer indicated that we'd be in the 90 - 100 buck range.

Here is copy and paste in the next paragraph that addressed this issue back a few months ago. Do a search for maintenance and there is an entire discussion.

When I took my Vision in for the 500 mi check up I ran into the same thing some of you have. I stayed for the service and watched the tech do the service. It was a 50 minute job, changing oil and what they called a 33 point check of the bike. I went to pay and check out and the bill was just short of $300. Not acceptable. The billing was showing 3.3 hours of labor. After discussion (nice word) I refused to pay since I had been there the whole time and it was an hour total, I was informed that the dealers service manual "says" ---500 mile oil and service 3.3 hours. After 30 minutes of discussion(nice word) they brought the labor charge down to 1 hour plus oil and filter, little over $100. Just an FYI for those of you that still need the 500 mile, you might check before they start.

I bought the service manual with the bike and did my own. As long as you buy the first oil from Victory as proof you did the service, the warranty can't be voided.

Sounds a bit steep! Dont really remember my 500 mi. service, but the 2500 was just shy of $200.
I remember because I used the $250 credit for the forks and my wifes eyes lit up when she found out there was some left. Needless to say she used the rest on the clothes and of course went over.

I think I paid $170 for my first service. I thought it was a little high, but they adjusted the belt which I really didn't want to fool with, so it may have taken longer than 50 minutes. I really like the shop that I bought it from, and I'll be doing my own oil changes from here on out, so I figured I'd give them the first one.

I paid just under $300. I will say, that I haven't been charged since. I've done my own oil and checks. I will be taking her in for the 10k in August just to make sure it's "all good" and take care of the recall. I'm just over 7k now. 6 months, 7k, not bad.

I did my own, consisted of oil change (AMSOIL) and filter. Checked the tire pressure and checked to make sure nothing was rattled loose. I don't think the dealer does anymore than that.

Mine was $310. but that included the labor to install the stage 1 pipes and re-flash the computer and install the tailgunners....
break down left about $110 for the 500 mile service.

Wow, none of you take in consideration that you dealer can be your friend in time of need. Sorry to those who have bad dealers, but I would find someone who would give it the once over Victory touch when doing the services. at least during the warranty period. I don't mind paying the extra for the labor because my dealer really does take care of me and the rest.

I'll compare this to my recent state inspection, at the jeep dealer for my jeep. It got rejected for brakes in which the service manager had the courtesy to call me and tell me nonchalantly that it needed the new brakes for a mere $970.00. I asked, for what. Well, a wheel cylinder was leaking on the rear, and you can't replace just one without the other. Of course the shoes needed to be replaced because of the leak. And of course, the drums looked too worned to be turned so they should be replaced. Oh, by the way the fronts pads where worn and needed to be replaced as well. My mind figured at most $300.00 worth of parts leaving $670 for labor. I told him to slap a reject sticker on and I'll do the job myself because I wouldn't pay them $600.00 for something I well capable of doing. The final results of this fandango is that it cost me about $150.00 for total replacement of the parts mentioned and two afternoon of my own time. Keep in mind, the book value for labor is based off of median time frame, so be it if the assigned mechanic is skilled enough to complete in a faster time frame. I would rather have them charge the flat fee if they exceed the time, then to have them charge me by the actual hour worked and they take their time to milk me of a few extra dollars.

But, I don't have the relationship with my car dealer as I do my Victory dealer. I can call the folk at my Victory dealer friends, and they have no problem whether I do my own oil change or if they do it, and I've had a few "freebies" because of that relationship. I think in the long run it will pay off immensely, especially in the time of need on my part. Perhaps a different approach and mindset may get more, as it is easier to get something with honey, then with vinegar. Just my half of four cents.

I agree about it depends on your dealer. I have paid big bucks and low prices for services. Most of the Victory dealers I have done business with have treated me well. Sometimes I pay a higher price for service but then I get a great price on accessories I get. I had a n oil change and a TPS adjustment done at Tri-City in Utah on my '99 years ago. They would not let em leave till they had completely washed the bike. Several of us had gone to Wings and Wheels years ago. Warners was very nice to open his service area so we could change our oil and filters. What is that worth? Advanced sells me accessories at a great price and installs for free.
I thought my service cost was kind of high one time but I needed work on my bike later on and Bill took it right in and took care of me right away. Was is that worth?
I suggestion finding new dealer that treats you good and remember to go back for accessories and service and not buy from Ebay.....

Just bought my Vision last Saturday. One of my questions was the cost of service. The owner told me that the most expensive service was 12K when they change the fork oil and that would be a little over $300. After reading this post I called him to make sure I understood what he'd said. He told me that the 500 mile service might hit $200 with adjusting the belt, changing oil, etc.

I told him what I was reading and he said "anyone paying over $300 for a 500 service is getting gouged".

FWIW

Wow! I missed the 12k fork oil change in the book, I'm clicking up to that now at 11,700+ on the clock. It's a shame to change only being 6 months old. Discussing my services with the dealer once I noted that 2,5k for an oil change is excessive in my opinion since on the Wing I went 5 - 8k using SCAMSOIL. His reply was that the 2.5k was basically in line with seasonal rider since a lot of riders only put on about that much every year. However, given that, I think the V-twin needs it because of it's make up compared to the honda water-cooled flat 6 cyl. I don't use no oil between changes, but it has a hint of fuel smell to it after about 2.5k and it's a little dark, much like the honda would be at 5k. So since I'm poised to be pushing 100k after 4 years I think the oil investment every 2.5k is will worth it.

My 500 mile service was 158.00 and I upgraded to the AMSOIL Oil, I thought it was a good price. I still have to take it back for a few other things, but so far happy with the Dealer.
