what date are you planning on heading out? I have been working on plans for a 48 state ride with several stops along the way. I am looking to leave somewhere around May not sure of the exact date at this time. I am allowing about 90 days for my trip. I am also in hopes of my wife flying to meet me along the way as well. Depending on your dates and such maybe we can ride some together. Lets see if this can work for both of us.

Planning on mid or end of June. Two couples and yes two Vision riders. My bike is also pearl white 2010 and my friends is blue & sand colour.
I have a uni-wheel trailer for extra's.(wife..lol) See pictures in gallery of this site, my friend is in the process of buying one too.
We live on the Canadian side of the border just across Madawaska , Maine. which is the first check point. We have 21 days to do the 4 check pionts.
Our first stop will be Key West , Florida. Both our wives will be with us for the hold trip..

You need to look at "Rollin's'' trips.
He's done the 48 contiguous States trip (plus Alaska) and the 4 corners trip.

I collected all 48 States this year on my 2011 Vision, but it took me 3 separate trips to accomplish it. (I live near Akron Ohio)
Nova Scotia (3,330 miles in 4 nights and 5 days), Key West (2,878 miles in 4 nights and 5 days), and then the "Big Trip" (7,600 miles in 11 nights and 12 days) to collect all the rest.
I did a lot of sightseeing and spent more than one day visiting family members in California and Oklahoma.
Your planning on 90 days for your trip seems excessive and I believe you will come to hate saddling up each day for that long of a time period.
I think 90 days converts into around 100 miles per day.

The 4 corners tour can be done in about 6,300 miles and a little more than 100 hours in the saddle.
But then you still have to ride home from Washington which is another 3,200+ miles and at least 50 more hours in the saddle.

Make sure you ride routes 1 and 101 up the west coastline so you don't miss Big Sur and the Redwoods in California.

I'm planning this for next year, too, for my 50th birthday. Around the June time-frame, but plan to do the whole trip in about 3 weeks.

After exiting Florida (I would go up the west coast for better views and cheaper tolls), you will be on Interstate 10 for like, forever.
Watch you fuel gauge as you will be crossing the bayous (swamps) and gas stations are limited and spread out.
You should plan on spending a night in New Orleans because that is about the only thing interesting to that point.
I recommend the Holiday Inn in the French Quarter because it has a adjoining parking deck to park your motorcycle.

The rest of the trip is going to be straight and boring unless you do some research on sites like;
http://motorcycleroads.us/index.html

The hill country of Texas has a twisty road or two, and route 191 in the Gila Forest (NM and AZ) was fun, but would mean a 300 mile detour for you.
If you haven't seen the Grand Canyon or Visited Las Vagas before, I recommend you add them to your itinerary.

Nope, All Ohio Motorsports in Bedford Heights Ohio.
I'm located right between those two dealerships, and I have had a great 5 year relationship with Todd, my dealer.
