45 mpg average 0 problems, no leaks, misalignment of anything, cracked windshields, slow fuel filling
heat on legs, lack of power, handlebars not reaching driver, or a bad dealer.

My gas gauge was fixed with the replacement of the fuel sending unit. It has worked fine since then.

Had my fuel gauge defective from the first day, it would read 1/2 to 3/4 then would stay there until it got to below 1/2 then it would work some times. It was a defective sending unit and is part of the fuel pump, dealer replaced and no more problems.t

Good God. Simply fill until the nozzle shuts off - gently rock the bike for 20-25 seconds, and add more fuel until it is full. Use your eyes, ears and good sense. Only then will the Gas Guage register 'full'. I drive hard - with a passenger (only 95 lbs) - but I am 220, and get at least 50 mpg. And my Vision has not had ANY of the complaints I hear on this site. I monitor all your beefs - in case it happens to me. But I do wonder if sometimes you guys/gals expect perfection. Even Harley's don't get that - lighten up and just enjoy!
Sorry - all the beefing I read is just nowhere near the experience I am having - Maybe Canadian Visions are built better!

I fill my tank as slow as I get the nozzel to fill and probably shake it three times before it stops gurgling. I've never put more than 5.9 gallons in. I'm pretty sure the tank holds 6.2 gallons.

I think some of these guys have some legitamate beefs and a few others do wish for perfection. I do agree with you that sometimes the rhetoric leans to the whiny side, but think of it as therepy. So you and I are a couple of the lucky ones with trouble free bikes. I'm pretty sure, nobody in Spirit Lake cares wether the bike is for Canada (not certain though). Mine is a 49 State version.

I have put in 6 gal., one time. I always calculate my actual milage based on GPS & audometer. The audometer is about .03% off. I will average 43 mpg if I don't get on it too hard. The visions calculator is usually 1.5 to 2 mpg higher than reality.

Got 15,000 miles on now in 15 weeks of ownership.

I get between 41-45 and that is with up to 10% ethanol fuel. I have found a service station that does not have ethanol in their fuel and will try that to see what kind of fuel mileage the bike gets.

Never had a 3/4 fill issue. From reading this it sounds like none of you are filling your tank while sitting on the bike to level it. If you pull up tighter to the gas pump so you can sit on your Visn while filling it you will notice that it will fill 100%. As stupid as this may sound to you, if you look down the opening you will see that there is a transfer delay while filling. So top off the tank then pull out the nozzle for a few minutes and you will see that you are actually not full. This works 100% of the time give it a try.

Actually, the proper method to fill up the Vision is to fill it while it is on the side stand.  That is the reason the gas cap is on the top of the right side tank and that the lid over the cap opens to the left (unlike my old GL1800 Goldwing where the gas cap was centered on the bike and you got the best fill while either on the bike keeping it straight up or on the center stand).  You still have to fill slowly to allow for the cross feed of the gas, but by filling up to the bottom of the neck while on the side stand you will have a truly full tank.

I was just about to post that i have never sat on the bike and tried to hold it upright to fill it. Always been on side stand and never had a problem filling the tank full.

Tried both ways and the sitting on the side stand works best, you get a full tank that way.

Don't sit on the bike when you add fuel.......if it lights up, what happens to you? HOT ROCKS!

I personally don't have a problem with my mileage, especially given the weight and displacement of the bike, and the fact that most of my riding is 2 up. Its about what I saw on my Harley. But I am not getting anywhere near the mileage that most others seem to get.

In any case, to the question at hand. My gas gauge reads full when it is full, and the reserve light usually comes on after 180 to 200 miles. Prettly much seems to be about a 1 gallon reserve as advertised My mileage averages between 35 and 38 mpg, with a couple of times over 40 at lower (45 to 55 mph) speeds.
