I know it took some time to edit etc. This should be forwarded to some magazines, Victory, and others (I don't know who else but somebody) because of the detail. I have about the same mileage and can relate to your thoughts over the past months. The Vision is just what I was waiting for also, as well as my wife.

Memphis | Chris, I knew you said you were working an an article a while back but I thought it was long forgotten. Now I know what took so long! What a great article! You hit the Vision owner experience from every angle, not just the technical aspects of the bike. The closing words of the article were deja-vu. "This is not off of a midlife crisis pursuit or a whim, but from a lifelong question, "Why isn't there a bike made just for me?" It doesn't matter if Victory never makes another Vision, or finds it a flop, it would not have had any effect on my decision to purchase one. In fact if I'm the last to be riding one, it will only convince me that it was made just for me." I was on my way to put down the deposit last summer and as I was walking out the door I told my wife "This is the bike I have waited for my whole life. If no one else buys one I will know it was made just for me." I would rather have the Vision than any other car/truck/motorcycle on the planet. Fantastic job. |

I dont think there was anything I disagreed with in the whole article.
Next milestone 15K... I should be there soon and will be refilling forks and powdercoating them and wheels while they are off..

| Great ,Great article Chris . I was looking at a Goldwing last fall until I rode one and was disappionted that it did not meet my expectations. I finally got to a local Victory dealer and saw ,talked and rode a vision last fall. All I could say was..... WOW!!!!! Just over two weeks ago I drove out with a black premium tour. Now with over 900 miles on it I am not dissapointed. Your article reflects many of my early observations though I have a long way to go. Having riden a honda shadow 1100 for 11 years the vision is the right step up. Thanks for the work and effort you put into the story a wonderful read. |

Salisbury, NC | Chris, that is a very good article. Hope you get the highway pegs added, it will greatly reduce the heat while riding. Just moving your feet to the outside edge of the floorboards help. I wish that I could get the mileage you are getting out of your Dunlops, but different rider, different riding styles have different effects on the tires. I have been getting around 39/41 mpg on the highway while riding 75 to 80 mph. I couldn't agree more on the handling/ feel of the bike. It is the best I have ever rode. Keep up the notebook for your next article at 25,000. Looking forward to reading it too. ET |

New Bohemia, VA | Thanks to all for the wonderful comments. I hope more will share the great ride they have had on the Vision. My Pillion and I went a easy and great 376 mile round trip ride for a bowl of soup. I was well worth the trip for both the ride and the soup. I hope we'll do it again real soon. |

Northeast Pennsylvania | Great article. I would like to know if the tall windshield helped alot with the pillion area. My wife loves the ride also, but says she is getting pushed around more than on our 2002TC. And you know the old saying "if the wife ain't happy, life ain't happy" although, I told her we would figure out something like a full face, or goggles 'cause I aint' given it back. Great article. |

New Bohemia, VA | Thanks for the kudos victory2002. Yes, yes, the 2" on the tall windshield made a whirlwind of difference for her. I like the stock windshield in the full down position, however, the additional 2" in the down position is okay by me. She rode with me on a 376 mile ride yesterday, winshield up, and a big smile on her face. Well, worth the dough, I just wish it was easier to swap them out, so I could use the stock one on my day to day travels, and then revert to the taller one on the 2up rides. Them little grommets are such a pain, as as the backs and the screws that hold the windshield on. But, yes, get the taller shield and momma will be happy. |
