If you have an '08 Vision you will find that you do not the ability to mount a RAM ball in the mirror socket, and that leaves you with a bar clamp. Sad thing is that the odd shape of the bars make the bar clamp a pain in the arse. I stumbled on a real simple solution.

Get yourself this Ram mount base (RAM-B-238U) for about $7:

Remove the 2 screws on the clutch reservoir, get 2 longer screws and mount the base using those 2 mounting points. I find it real lucky that those holes line up almost dead on. Then use what ever arm or mount you want, I happen to have a molded mount for my Droid X.

Got a PM with 2 questions on this:

"1. Does your Droid X stay stationary on the end of the RAM arm or does it vibrate or wobble around? The reason I ask is for readability while riding. "

It is rock solid, readability shouldn't be any different than the radio or GPS in your car. Most smart phones have car setting that also make the buttons nice and big, too bad I can't use them with gloves on.

"2. Does the weight of the phone make the arm slip downward on rough roads? "

Never, and I have hit some big pot holes.

I added some more pictures, and as you can see I had to notch out the arm in order to get the phone located just where I wanted it. The metal was pretty easy to cut, and a dremel with a rotary cutter worked great.
