Been reading about how it seems that you cannot get stereo out of a 08/09 Garmin 660 hook-up.

Could the GPS unit be wired into the the radio where the XM would connect and provide stereo assuming you were not using XM?

Just a thought.

The problem with just making the audio connections might be that the stereo doesn't know that there is something connected there. If you don't have the XM module or CD player installed, you can't scroll to either of those inputs with the controls. The radios computer communicates with everything attached to it to determine what is available and adjusts it's menu accordingly.

All that being said, this is the CD player audio pinout. You would try the hookup on the 24 pin connector using these pins:

pin 4 is audio L +
Pin 5 is audio R +
Pin 11 is audio -

I don't know if it will work, and if it does, how or even if the stereo will prioritize signals.

The only sure way I know to get stereo is to use the Auxiliary plug or the Ipod cord.
