I have a 2008 and have battle the Ipod issue's with mine from the start. Changed ipod cable 2 times, used three different ipods and the last try will be pulling the radio and having it sent back in for service or trade out.

They replaced my radio twice in the summer of 2010 under warranty. The original went silent, but the display worked. The first thing they did was to upgrade the software, but that didn't help. The next radio would intermittently shut off, display and all. Don't have cb or intercom. I didn't get the ipod cable until I had used the latest one a few months and figured it was ok.

FYI.. My volume on XM is alot lower than on Ipod. Factory says its the way the configured the output.. I also put the hawg wired set up and the xm is about 30% of total volume of Ipod... Sucks bigtime.. Working with factory now on reconfiguring to same on each and lowering ipod and raising XM... I think they were trying to make the ipod sound better, louder with new speakers and not adding an amp... Bastards...

I am presently having issues with my radio on my '08. While playing the Ipod it will go silent, but the song will still show playing, then when the next songs starts it will come back on and start all over again. Never had an issue till now. Can't the radio be replaced under warranty since they know of the issues? Tried everything under the moon trying to fix mine and no success so far.
