SC, Bluffton | Okay, I am looking for the Victory Oil Change kit. Cheapest I can find
is $68 shipped on eBay. I don't see a sponsor here offering the sale of
the oil change kit. I could be wrong.

| My local dealer sold me the kit last week for $60..See what your local dealer will do for you price wise...Some will discount some will not..It is almost cheaper to have the dealer change it by the time you pay shipping and taxes......Your deal shipped is pretty damn good!!! |

Cicero, Indiana | Ok I haven't had the bike long enough for a oil change but can't you buy Vic oil by the qrt? On another note I seen in the Manuel to change ever 5000 miles but the dealer said every 2500 and I know it's not them trying to get me in because I'm 6hrs each way from the deler I bought from. Not ridding that far for oil.

| On the 2011 and newer models 5000 mile changes are recommeded in manual...Everyone does what they feel is best for them...I usually change about 3500 or so...Yes you can buy individual quarts of Vic oil..I do not know the price...... |

| I am also not sure about change intervals on other models. The Vision is 5000 miles....

Mt. Vernon, WASH. | Maybe I'm missing something but it seems that $60 for a few quarts of oil and a filter is the equivelent of having the parts guy pull a gun on you. Is there some sort of mystic formula in VICTORY quarts of oil or is it the same basic stuff that comes out of the ground all over the world?
I understand the caution about 'no additives in the oil' and tehe substitution can be any wet plate oil that meets JASO specs, but come on!!!!? $8 a quart?? someone is getting bent over the counter and taking it dry with a free handful of sand. |

| Buy what you want and where you want....I do not care......As for me I will stay with the Vic oil and filter as it works for me...Too each his own.....I am not going to get more involved in these oil issues!!! |

| Check to see what your dealer charges. I have found that at many dealers, letting them change the oil is cheaper than the oil change kit.
Just a thought. |

Where I bought the Vision, 40 minutes away, closed up. My local metric
dealership closed as well. Then 3 people stole my Mega Millions the other
night which I was going to use to open some local dealerships. (o:

Rancho Cucamonga, CA | My dealer can't be all too happy. They offered me a 3 year service agreement for $1000. I think the salesperson forgot that Vic recommended 2500 mi oil changes. I have had 10 in 18 months. Then again, they know I will be in the market for a new bike a lot sooner than someone who only rides 5k/yr.

Don't see much never mind in all this oil crap. Driving conditions has a bigger affect on oil than miles. Any modern oil is good indefinitely if you keep it within it's temperature limits, and keep it clean. Clean being the bugger. Particulates are just one of the contaminants, the residue from fuel and combustion is the biggie. My personal taste is to use a less expensive oil, like blue jug, and change more often than expensive oil and try to take it to the extreme. Oil's like women, higher cost means nothing.

Bay of Gigs, WA | Oil change time! So I call my local NAPA. They got no Castrol semi-syn blend oil. Neither does Schmucks/O'Reilly. They're clearly not "looking out for me." Neither carries Amsoil, either. WTF?? I go online and all I get is info filling out pages to tell me where I can order the stuff. Here I sit in a major metropolitan area, putting up with tons of traffic, red light frikkin' cameras, and all sorts of commie BS and I can't go down and buy a few quarts of stinkin' oil when I want? I could live in the boonies fer Chrissakes if I gotta order everything anyway. Can you tell I'm mildy unamused?? Now I gotta go 35 miles to Bremerton and pay $8 a quart for the original stuff. What a pain in the ass. |

Take the back road, have a beer at Tides Tavern, some chowder and oyster shooters at Anthony's, through Olalla/Banner road, Manchester Inn for appetizers, ride along the sound on Beach Drive, through Port Orchard, then hunker down through Gorst and on into Bremerton.
One of my favorite rides in area...

Bay of Gigs, WA | The Tides is for tourists, for the most part, although on the weekends when it's nice, it's fun to watch the local hotrod boats going by...But it's the Hy-Iu-Hee-Hee that has the gizzards. And good bacon. That's two food groups, y'know...I'm lobbying for Gizzards on Horseback to join the menu. Then you got something! Also, 7-Seas makes some of the best brews going. I like their Cutts IPA, because you can't ride if you drink two Ballz Deep Darks.
Also, I was troubled as soon as I logged off yesterday about my whiny diatribe. I apologize for that. Rest assured my blood sugar is much better today, and if the universe wants to force me to use the actual Victory oil, then so be it, I suppose. (And as for all you Amsoil guys, I tried!) |

But you got the ride exactly right. The views from the cliffs overlooking Vashon Island and West Passage rival anything I've ever seen in any calendar photograph anywhere. Seriously. And if you like to burn roads on your sportbike, or cruise them on your tanker, trust us, this is the place to be. weather permitting (LOL). |
