I have 09 vision & want to wire ipod so it will charge & can be controled with handle bar controls or radio controls. I have talked to my local dealer & they say this is not possible. right now I have an aux cable so ipod will play over speakers but wont charge & cant use controls. I have done some research & I think part # 2877894 will work. has anyone done this & how hard to wire. I just purchased this bike in febuary & love the bike,am planning a 2400 mile trip to tail of dragon & would really like to have ipod wired. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the $99 cable for my '11 and it does all that mi believe you'll need the software update for your radio. They have the $50 cable for the older bikes that I thought did the charging too but I don't remember. I think with the right software updates and the right cable that all that stuff works.

My Dealer connected mine for a few bucks and it works fine. IPOD now LIVES in my glovebox - except when Co-Pilot has heard enough of my music - and replaces my IPOD with hers ....

Read the thread below. There are three different iPod cables for the Victory Vision. Download the PDF that is linked in the thread.

2008 and 2009 Visions

The easier way to fix charging for the 2008 and 2009 Visions is the newer Black cable (part number 2877894) that will charge any iPod/iPhone for $99.99. It has a box in the cable that coverts the voltage and sends it to the correct pin to charge the iPod/iPhone.

The old white iPod cable for the 2008 and 2009 Victory Vision iPod Power Cord & Console Link is $49.99 Victory Item #: 2876116 (if you can find them). This cable requires a separate charge converter to charge newer iPhones and iPods.

2010 and newer Vision's
Starting with the 2010 year model they came out with a newer radio and a new iPod cable (Part number 2877195). This cable will work with any 2010 or newer Vision with a radio. (Sorry it will not for the stock Vision 8 Ball, no radio)

www.Partspitsop.com have part # 2877195 'cord power iPod VV,CC' for $74.99 both the price and number are good. The difference in the explaination for #2878628 'cord iPod' is the word power so not sure if the part number 2878628 supplies power as well, same price of $74.99.....confusing

The newer ipod cable will not plug into older visions. If you have an older bike you'll need the "white" ipod cable and not the "black" one. The older "white" cable will NOT charge an ipod/iphone after the 1st generation. If you have a gen 2 + you can buy an adapter off ebay for a few bucks and plug that between your ipod and cable and it will charge now no problem.

Hey Steve I also have an 09, and my IPOD does work through the bike sound system and charges. I have the regular IPOD cable that I got when I bought the bike. Then I bought a charging attachment and connected it between the cable and the IPOD. Then I took the protective case from the new sterio face plate that I bought for my truck and modified it by cutting off one end. So now I have the ipod/charger/cable in the sterio faceplate container housed in the left glovebox. I will see if I can post pics later today when I get home from work... BTW... The new IPOD Cable extension will not work with your bike... I already tried this...

Hope this helps

So which is the best cable for the 2011 VV is it the part # 2877195 or the other one #2878628.
Why do companies make things so bloody difficult all I want is to add the iPod into the system and use the station selector buttons to jump to playlists. May be I should just put the entire collection in one playlist and put that playlist on shuffle and use the 3.5mm jack that is already there........why are the little things in life so annoying
