Just as the title says I'm looking at jacks and lifts what do you recommend or which should I stay away from?

I have the same yellow HF jack. It was missing a couple minor parts when I got it but they replaced them. I've had my Nomad up on it literally hundreds of times (for mods/maintenance). It hasn't missed a beat. I got it on sale last fall for around $60.

Titan motorcycle lift, LOVE IT! Worth every penny, I change the oil without bending over, except to pick up stuff off the floor.

I have a Kendon lift, I picked up from a riding buddy for a song!

Have all the goodies for it too. Makes working on the bike a breeze.

Prairie dog, Looking at the two lifts there really is no comparison and if you'll talk to the shops you will see that they enjoy a higher lift, especially if you work on them often. Most of the lifts barely reach 36" and doing so, at full lift you will still have to lean down or sit down and lean over to get near the bike. Get one that goes high enough and all your work will be at belly chest level and you will thank yourself a whole lot more.

I have a Handy lift that I've had for 20 years now. I recently put side extensions on it so I can just ride the Vision on. I also picked up a J&S Jack for taking the front wheel off.

Harbor Freight aluminum jack for me until I get a bigger table lift someday and hopefully bury it into the floor to take up less space in the garage.

I have been using the OTC motorcycle Lift with the Vision since 2008. I am quite happy with it. Similar to wha another had said, I put the eye bolts in the tip overs and use the straps that came with the lift to make it extra stable. I also like the removable handle.

I use this too although in a couple months I will be purchasing a commercial lift.

The bottom of the motor is not flat, so a standard motorcycle jack does not work well. Some folks on this forum have installed the Arlen Ness skid plate to achieve a flat level surface to place a jack under.

J+S jack also. Very stable, they had a spring special that included the oil changing plate at no additional charge.

Where did you get the skid plate from? How much is involved in fitting the skid plate
